What is your favorite all around bullet weight for the 10 mm. I like 180 grain

I load 135, 150, and 180 grain JHP's; and 190 and 230 grain FNGC's for my Glock 20SF.

The 230 FNGC's are a little heavy for my taste, I mainly use the 190's.

I shot the 135 JHP's for the first time this weekend and the accuracy was outstanding traveling at 1700 fps.  I will carry these this summer when I'm out coyote hunting in case I get a close shot.  The 135 should give some massive expansion in a coyote.

Here is my thoughts on the weights, all of them have their own uses.  My vote is for the 200 grain specifically a JHP like that of the Gold Dot with it's bonded construction...(those were rare and available as pulled from 40S&W contract run as sold by RMR)  The main issue is the construction of most 0.400" projectiles are geared to 40S&W performance levels.

However, I do use cast bullets in  200 grain TC SWC, 175 grain TC and the Lyman 156 grain Devastator HP. I feel these offer great performance especially if SHTF and supplies dwindle. These work well with the sabots I have for my muzzleloader rifles.

Those who live where a non lead projectile is needed would do well with the offerings from Barnes 125 gr, 140 gr and the 155 gr also the Lehigh Defense offerings 140 Control fracturing & Xtreme Penetrator (XP) to satisfy those restrictions.  Their drawback is the price due to the solid copper construction.

The sad thing is that many companies have dropped or do not make good selections for the true 10mm performance, this is where I see Speer 180 and 165 GD's & Hornady XTP's as the best true 10mm performance in the jacketed bullets, Nosler is not far behind, but I find their jackets a little thin and tend to shed pieces on the upper performance loadings.

Companies like Winchester and Remington have been lacking for supplying bullets like the Silvertips and the Golden Saber bulk offerings as components as well as their standard regular JHP offerings...this could be because of the current market trends and focus on the Self Defense craze in 40S&W as well as other other calibers.

But the market has been responding with cast and poly paint coated bullets to sustain shooters who don't make their own.

 :))

The two mods voted 200 grain.

It is just preference and I completely agree that each weight has a purpose.  I just logged in and saw the 2 votes for 200 grain, wondered who besides me voted that, and it was Shadow.

As an "All-Around" weight, I chose the 165, because the 150/155 grain wasn't there.......as stated, I think each weight has it own little niche. JMHO.

I voted for 200's... I like heavy bullets. That's one of the reasons I got into 10mm.
If I ever get my reloading stuff setup I will get some 220 grain to try.
Would trade some other bullets for some to try out.
My favorites in my 44 magnum are a 365 grain hard cast a friend makes up, they are fun.
And naturally my favorite shotgun round is a heavy slug.

I use 180 and 155 XTPs because they are widely available in my area and others are not.

My personal favorite is 180 grain. Although lately I've been using Precision Bullets 185 grainers.
