Title: Bought a GEN3 G29sf today!
Post by: cwlongshot on April 04 2015 02:15:51 PM MDT
I have been contemplating one for some time.. With the Mech tech taking my G20 I had more of a "need". :)

Shot it today about 60 rounds before the wind got so bad I did not have a target to shoot.  :o :o :o :o I was able to shoot 6-7" at 50 yards! Stock gun first rounds!!

Sounds like you shoot better with stock glock sights than i do, i cant stand them. I changed them on my 23 before i ever shot it. I get get groups around that or maybe better with both ine running aftermarket sights... i cannot remember what they measured.
What is the knife?  I like that one.

I prefer a better site too, metal!  Unsure what I'll put on this one yet. Its my first "newer" glock. Mine are al Gen 1 & 2 guns!

I put a cheap set of williams fire sights on my 23, they were under $40 on sale at midway. They really jump out at you, makes it easy to get on target fast. I would highly recommend something like them for a carry gun.

Edit.. they are blued steel and regular price is $45 at midway

Happy Glock!

I like my G29 very much.  Very easy to shoot.

I did some experimenting tonight...

Seems that the G20 barrels WILL NOT fit the 29sf.  :o :o :o As a mater of fact, the G20 slide doesn't fit properly.. ooh it goes on. and like a Chinese finger is difficult to remove!!  :o ;D ;D ;D

Not huge deal as even the 5.25" seems WAY LONG hanging out of the lil 29 slide!! LOL

One big reason for getting the 29 over another 20 is the ability to run the G20 magazines with the addition of the sleeve. So the G29 will feel like the G20!

I polished up a few contact points and will likely change the sights too as I prefer metal and "nite sites" too.

With the warmer weather Ill get back to the range and really ring this shooter out!

Good job on the 29, it's a great gun!  The locking lugs on the larger 20 barrel won't mate up to the smaller locking block of the 29.  Good looking gun!  Don't quote me on this, but I think Lone Wolf makes longer 29 barrels, not sure how long though.  I do know KKM will cut a 29 barrel up to G20 length.
