Lots of people can't get past the ugly to see the true beauty of a glock is that is the ak47 of handguns. It's going to work better than virtually anything can in all kinds of nastiness.
I had owned a couple of them before I got my 20, I never cared for them due to how bad I shot them with the factory sights. I got the 20 because I had always wanted a 10mm since watching Miami vice as a kid and I got a good deal on this one so I leapt back into glocks. This one already had truglo night sights and I shot extremely well with it first time out, I was now a full on glock fan. I admit I hated them for a while, but love them now. Mine would be the last two pistols I would ever part with.

I find that most people that are against owning a Glock are that way because of the way they were raised or trained. My grandfather and father were old school. They firmly believed all semi-autos need some sort of manual safety or decocker. They would never own anything that is cocked and ready to go with the slightest trigger pull. My grandfather even had a bunch of printed copies of stories of law enforcement officers that have shot themselves by accident or their kids with Glocks over the years and whenever he got in the Glock argument with someone he would pull out his stack and say look at all these cops that have shot themselves or children.
It took me 16 years of owning handguns before I felt comfortable enough to buy semi-auto without a manual safety (Ruger LCP and Taurus LCP). It still makes me nervous having it loaded with one in the chamber in an IWB in the front of my pants near my femoral artery.
On another note, are the Glocks made in Georgia still stamped "Austria" on the side?
I haven't seen a Glock marked made in the USA yet! ???

I thought Federal law said a firearm must be stamped where they are assembled?
The frame is legally the firearm. The rest of the parts, like the slide, barrel, trigger groups are accessories. That is why you can buy anything but the frame mail-order.
Last two I ordered from my FFL asked if I wanted one with USA stamped on the side of the slide, so I assume he was able to get them. Link to an image I found - http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013/05/06/glock-usa-exporting-pistols/.
