Looking for 22 mag rifle down to these 2, which is better.
I prefer the CZ.
There is no comparison, a remington is a borderline piece of junk since the freedom group buyout . While a cz is almost a piece of art, when my cz 527 came in my ffl was practically drooling over it. Every single person who saw that gun said thats one sexy rifle.
I don't own either but would choose the CZ. However, my father in law has a Remington 597 and it is very accurate and has not had one problem with it. My second 22lr was a 597. Not a single problem with it.
I have a CZ 455 with all three barrels and this is a really nice rifle. I would get the CZ you can buy extra barrels on their website.
I am leaning CZ, just like the 597 last shot lockback that the CZ does not have.
Thanks for the advice.

Many may not know all this, thought i would add it.
Remington has had so many quality control problems and many other issues since the buyout, no way would i get something made by the modern company. Shame since the old stuff is great for the most part. They ruined marlin and now have closed h&r and para ordnance.
I honestly would almost put remington into the hipoint/jennings/lorcin etc quality control issues dept now. Look at the fiasco with the r51 pistol last year ... that thing was horrible.
CZ it is.
Think you made a good decision. Recently purchased my first CZ (not including a DW 1911), a 452 American lefty in .17HMR, and it shoots great. Great value. Current Remington products don't give me this kind of warm fuzzy.
LOVE the littlest magnum!!!
I agree the CZ would get my choice, but the Remmy can be a great gun as well... I do not own either, but DO HAVE magnums in bolt guns for both makers.
I have been looking at the 5212 recently my self, simply don't need one now. ;) But If I buy another auto Maggie... it will be a CZ or a Magnum Research 10-22.

That CZ 512 is an outstanding rifle. I have one of those. I don't shoot it too often though. In fact its probably been a couple of years. I think I will knock the dust off this rifle on my next outing. You made a good choice.
