Looks good... I am seriously debating getting one for my glock 20.. Will have to decide between that and the ar15 I'm working on for a beater/truck gun.

Oh gawd, I finally made it to the range to fire my Mechtech, and I'm STILL sporting wood. I ran about 5 different manufacturers 10mm 1911 magazines through for reliability testing. Not one failure to feed or fire. This was from about 25 yards away. (Way too windy to test from further away., plus I wanted to see how it grouped) Not bad, not bad at all. Them darned zombies better never come to my house!

Only one thing strange, it kind of feels like something going boingboingboing. But with the tight group., I'm betting it's the collapsable stock doing it, not the barrel.

OUTSTANDING GDog, outstanding

I love my MG20
But I really wish MechTech would look at building a CCU for the Large Frame Witness too
With all the available calibers you can run thru the LF Witness, it only make sence

Well, they ARE expanding. It used to be only 1911's and Glocks. Now they will also make them for Springfield XD(/M)'s (Just not sub-compact models)

I read somewhere that there "was / is / was to be" a CCU for the Beretta 92 and Browning HP too
Not sure if that is true or someones pipe-dream
Not sure WHY the XD is their next evolution
You'd think maybe for SIG , say for the 226 Frame in 9mm, 357 SIG and 40 cal
I do know I'd like to visit their factory one day

Problem if they made it for my SIG P299. Would need two barrels, one for .40 cal, and one for 357 SIG. (Which isn't even a Mechtech option yet!)

Hickok45 just posted a video on YouTube, looks fun!  http://youtu.be/mwC4M_VInSA  he mentioned he wanted to get a 10mm setup.

He does point out my one fault I don't like. The bolt does not lock back after the last round is fired. Unless I was seriously counting shots, I was pulling trigger on empty mags a lot.

But man, they are fun......and ACCURATE! Like I said, I fired I don't know how many rounds of different ammo and different manufacturer's mags, and not one failure to anything!

Still, it costs like a whole new 10mm Pistol to do it, and you need one that will fit it. Would have been a lot cheaper if I didn't have to have the fold down front and rear sights and the QD optics.

One thing I found was that when cleaning the CCU, the Bolt could release and give you a good bite
So I made a couple of Bolt Safeties to hold the Bolt in the open position
Mine is a Glock, so the 1911s may be a bit different
Use this one with the Lower in place:

I'll be honest - I got tired of breaking my Hunter down  to use the lower on the M-T - so I got another lower (G20sf Gen 3 ) and I thought I'ed build a long slide for it when its not on the M-T and than came along the G40 and now I'm in a quandry about what I'm going to do, the G40 pricing is rumored to be $650 to $750, it would be cheaper to build a long slide from LW and have milled for an aimpoint if I go that direction.  What to do  What to do :-\

Question for you guys owning the G20 or any Glock CCU...

LOP. I am having problems deciding on what stock combo to go with... I want short, but not child size.. liking about 12.75" LOP but cannot tell if I NEED the car butt or a std 6 position. Here in CT I need fixed stock so Ill pin this before installing.. but I would also be just as happy with a atd A2 butt...

What LOP do you get with your setup? (Whats your set up)

Thanks

With my Short M4 (4 position) collapsible, I get the following Length of Pull:
12.25", 14.0", 14.75" and 15.5"

If you include the Recoil Pad, add 0.5" to those numbers   8)

Saw this on youtube where he checks velocities on a Glock with a 6" barrel, and with a Mechtech 16" CCU. Look at the velocites he got with the Underwood 135 grains!

MechTech's price of $399.99 does not include the Fixed M4 Stock, a $35.00 part
And all of the seller's pics for any ad are the same pic of a Glock unit

There was some jackass trying to sell mechtechs at the last gun show for $799... and they were going to be drop shipped from the factory. He did not even have a display one on hand.
I hope nobody was stupid enough to fall for his bs.

Depending on where you live / go to Gun Shows, there is a guy who does sell at Shows then drop ship from MechTech
Here's his site:

Not sure, is that the price for just the CCU? These have stocks and a rail on top. Those are extra from Mechtech. I paid over $700 for my set up with the folding stock, flip down sights and red/green dot optics..

CWlongshot,
I see you are in CT. Is the MechTech legal here?
I went over the whole 13-320 act and if you think of this as a rifle once you have added it to your pistol then the Act says you cannot have more than one finger, the trigger finger, under any part of the action. So does this the make the CCU an assault weapon?
I know it's useless calling the ploice, they say they don't make decisions.
I wanted one instead of buying the Olympic Arms upper, I have a registered AR-15, but this just looks great and it's $300 and change cheaper.
My pistol is the Springfield Omega, 1989, which predates the Sept 13th 1994 preban but my pistol was not an assault weapon back then.
I am so frustrated and confused.
Can you shed any light on this matter for me.
Many thanks.

Must be using CT's libtard definition of an "assault Weapon" Sorry folks, a true assault weapon has a selective fire option. Just cause it vaguely resembles an M16 does not make it one. As far as I know (And Mechtech says so on their website) there are no known laws in ANY state about converting these back to the original pistol.

Libtard def. Love it!

It's true, the BATFE has no problem taking a pistol converting it to a carbine/rifle and going back to a pistol. Even here in the libtard state that's OK.

Just so long as the conversion does not have any 'evil' features. So I am just trying to clarify before getting one.

I was hoping cw could help with that..

Thanks

I assume any magazine that holds more than ten rounds makes it an "Assault Weapon".

YES, its legal. (See mech-tech site) Its not a firearm, its a barrel...

But Not wanting this to be any more than it is... look for my PM. ;)

Yes, Gandog56,

You're right, 10 round mag limit.

I am going to get the 10mm upper from Olympic Arms as it just seems less hassle, even though it's more $$$$.

Thanks for your input.
