They had better get someone one the ballot that will/can turn this disastrous roller coaster around!
Mitch McConnell = jellyfish.
What have I been saying.
The way that I have heard it is that McConnell want to separate the funding for homeland security into two bills. One for the continuing operation of the agency, the the other for the amnesty portion covered by the President's executive order.
To me it makes sense, keep the operation running without the amnesty portion if the Democrats and the President go along with it. If they do not, the shut down is on their backs.

They should have started with that position. I guess they did try it without Obama's free handout of OUR Money and the Senate would have none of that. :'( Bums.
The second part means nothing, just a vote that means nothing.
This seems to be SOP for the new RINO majority in Congress. What you have; is a bunch of 'high-dollar' grifters shadowboxing with each-other. You have a mau mau who basically rules by decree, and a bunch of pusses wearing $1,000 dollar suits, too-afraid to jeopardize their own tenuous re-election chances, Who would, much rather be content, as part of the exclusive [don't rock-the-boat] 'public-relations' driven, Washington ass-kisser's club! As far as choices go, you only have avowed 'urban communists', like Elizabeth 'Pocahontas' Warren posing as real Democrats, and moderate Democrats, like Rand Paul posing as GOP. The 'Old Guard' GOP basically, torpedoed the 'Tea Party'; so it wouldn't upset this embedded 'status quo'. Jeb Bush is a complete RINO, as are most of the high-profile Republicans, including Christie. All of whom, seem to be happy playing their 'scripted' roles as hapless 'whipping-boys', and congenital remedials, to the delight of our caustic, PC liberal media.

Jeb Bush was actually a pretty good Governor. Of course that doesn't mean he will be a good President. He was popular with the Latin community (his wife is a Latina and he was sensitive to their issues). I can also remember an occasion where he told his brother (then President) to basically go screw himself over some policy he was trying to push on the state. People had jobs and he acted in the interest of the state of Florida. For me the best Governor is one that works fairly quietly behind the scenes and stays out of the media. Jeb Bush was one of those rare ones. If he were elected he certainly would be a huge step up from what we have now.
As much as people complain, what we have today is a Political Elite Class that we have created. Or rather we allowed to happen. There is only one way to fix it and it unfortunately isn't by voting IMHO. Which concerns and scares me greatly. But it should. To gain back our Republic we would need an ENTIRE system overhaul and that would be ugly.

I agree, and Jeb has the added advantage of being a two time governor from a state that has chose the winning president every time except one in the last 50 years or so. Whoever wins Florida wins the presidency. Jeb Bush can win Florida in a presidential race. The other candidates would lose in Florida against Hillary. I predict a Hillary Clinton win unless Jeb Bush is the candidate.

Still lots of time for other candidates to enter the field. "W" didn't enter the 2000 race until June of '99. I don't think Bill Clinton entered the 1992 race until 1992.
Obama had only barely declared his candidacy at this point in the 2008 race, and was largely an unknown at the time.
Hillary would easily beat Jeb.
Running Jeb takes all the negatives off Hillary like Romney with Romneycare over Obama.
You have the 2 failed Bush economies versus the booming Clinton years where everyone did well.
The slogan will be simple, what economy do you want, a Bush or Clinton one?
The GOP needs to find someone that is not elected and is a good man, maybe a former military/businessman. Thats their only hope.
Levin last night was very entertaining playing clip 12 over and over of Jeb touting his love of illegal aliens.
The only talk host that hammers the GOP just as hard, unlike the fluff Rush and Hannity put up.

There is a reason why they are now called "The Stupid Party."
I use to be a registered Republican and voted straight Republican in every election. There were only two times I didn't vote Republican: Once was Ross Perot in 1992, and Ralph Nader in 2004. After a few years of Bush #2, I changed my voter registration to independent. I will never again vote for a Republican. I never got anything out of them. Always promises, but nothing was ever delivered. Every year I payed more taxes, and lost rights and freedoms.
Ronald Reagan gave amnesty to illegals.

A number of years ago I got rid of the dish, and didn't get an antenna. I started reading my news online, and in so doing, actually checking sources. Doing so allows me to actually ask and answer meaningful questions about important topics that before I didn't:
Something is happing....
Why is it important?
Why is it important to me?
What doesn't this article tell me I should know?
How was this article contructed, and by whom for what purpose?
Are there other positions to consider?
It still astounds me how much I used to accept that was BS. And how much better informed I am by NOT watching/listening to the "News".
One ruling party of Zionist. Not to be affiliated with anti semite. Evil to the core and on fast track to finish off the Republic. I like Walker and he has proven he can win elections. Wisconsin was a traditional Blue state and he has won twice plus a recall.
I just hope he is ready to perform on the National Stage with a liberal media taking swipes at him.
Less than 40% vote in mid terms
More than 60% vote in presidentials
The Electoral College is the game and it is difficult for any Republican to win it. Any Democrat has 6-7 ways to win while the Republican candidate needs to run the table.
Dick Morris a GOP commentator thinks a Walker and Rubio ticket can win.
http://www.newsmax.com/newswidget/Dick-Morris-GOP-electoral-votes-2016/2015/02/18/id/625450/?Dkt_nbr=wdxgn7gs&nmx_source=GunupPublishing-Conservative&nmx_medium=widget&nmx_content=780&nmx_campaign=widgetphase2
This Republican author is more realistic. In 2014 the Democrats held on to Virginia and New Hampshire, that puts a Democrat at 270 Electoral Votes without Ohio and Florida.
http://blog.chron.com/goplifer/2014/11/the-missing-story-of-the-2014-election/#28114101=0
No way Walker can win Ohio, Ohio is a still a very union state, I even doubt he wins his own state.
The hope used to be that the Democrats will wake up and stop the leftward lurch. They have gone off the cliff and are still sleeping. When the bus crashes they will still be looking for the Obama lever. Idiotic sheep want their free shit. FSA rules all.
Wolfie;
Interesting take. I live in Columbus and every presidential election I hold my breath. Actually, the greater Cleveland/Akron/Canton area is a heavy manufacturing and therefore union stronghold. Columbus is very whilte collar but Ohio State is here so you never know what to expect. Cincinnati also tends to be conservative, so how the entire state goes is always close.
We have elected and re-elected a strong Republican governor (Kasich) who just started his second term. His first campaign was all tough-talk conservative. What was the first thing he did after his election? Went after the police, fire and teachers' unions WHILE QUIETLY EXEMPTING ALL government employees from retribution. No, I am NOT kidding. I didn't like going after these unions FIRST and ESPECIALLY while exempting themselves.
What a fu%$king hypocrite!
Anyway, hard to tell how the whole state will go.
I love to see the prognostication this early in the cycle.
Much can and will happen in the 9 mos.
Jeb's advantage is his name and access to the machine. His disadvantage is his name.
Walker is getting in on some of the $$$ gathering......it'll be interesting to see how it manifests.
Rubio.....the jury is still out.
All in all....politics is politics.....much hasn't changed in hundreds of years.....publicity through electronic media has only just brought it out for public consumption.
Buckeye, if a black guy can win Ohio, what do you think a white women will do?
Politically speaking, the GOP wins 3 of the 4 election cycles. They control nearly everything. If I had to bet, most on this forum live in a GOP county and local. I wonder if anyone gets mad when they raise taxes. I bet they tax and shout Obama and get the GOP voter to reelect them.
Believe it or not, the GOP runs 40 of the 60 counties in NY and 65% of the locals. Why? These elections are held in the odd years were only 30% show up and all the Democrats care about is the Jewel, NYC. (Upstate NY is rural and truly beautiful, kinda like Kentucky near Bowling Green, with bigger mountains.)
Politics is all about numbers.
Who has them wins and the numbers going into 2016 favor the Democrats like they favored the GOP in 2014. For those that think ahead, 2018 will be a good GOP year, with 2020 cementing the Democrats as the primary party in America.
Hillary is not good at campaigning. She doesn't like it. She appears stiff and cold. People outside the flock just don't like her.
Add to that all the baggage from her past. She started off as a dirty lawyer, headed the bimbo bashing machine, was of no real consequence in the Senate, and would have a hard case to make any positive results from Secretary of State.
I still don't think she's running. I still think its bait and switch. The Dems couldn't pick a much worse choice. The ONLY positive is Bubba is liked, but keeping Bubba in line isn't easy either.
Greg
A serious test of the Republicans will be the ban M855 ammo Obama agenda. IF Congress helps us in this battle, some of us serfs may be appeased.
I keep seeing people saying they are done with republicans and will only vote independent or stay home on election day. That just isn't going to work next election. We need a republican. We have to have a republican. I don't care if it's the most worthless RINO. We need someone who isn't going to veto every damn thing going through the congress. We need to get someone in there so we can relax and stop worrying about gun control as much. Vote independent any other election that you want, but it is IMPERATIVE that we get ANY republican in the president's seat in 2016. We cannot afford to have another democrat in office for the next 4-8 years. They will continue with the executive orders that the congress can't override without a majority. Little by little those executive orders will take more and more away. You think Obama is bad? Hillary Clinton is much worse.

Yes, that rules out Chris Christie, but I'll take just about any other of the potentials.
We need a Republican in to do what?
Pass more tax cuts for the rich? Deregulate? More Elective War? The same crap that got Obama in.
The GOP ran on stopping Obamacare and illegals, they gave it up for more campaign cash and bank deregulation. Republicans are only out for power so they can make cash and crush the poor and middle class. Not saying the Democrats are better, but Democrats KEEP their campaign promises.
Not one person here can say a Republican can.
To prove how big phonies the GOP are, at this weeks CPAC, none are talking about Gay Marriage that the GOP run US Supreme Court will rule as the law of the land very soon.

Obama did run opposed to gay marriage in '08..... Democrat bluebloods have only been pro gay marriage about 4 years..
Democrats are the party of federal gun bans (now ammunition also), bashing christians (and other religious groups), maintaining a status quo poor population for a base, restricting existing rights, creating racial tension, progressive, socialist idealogy in general, etc.... I could go on.
How anyone doesn't vote for folks with more libertarian views?? I don't get it.

Gay Marriage occurred as the GOP used it as a Wedge Issue to get elected and did nothing about it. When Republicans AFFIRM it as the law of that land, give credit to the GOP.

I think the train officially jumped the track in 1961 (The American Civil War), but it wasn't noticed until much later.
Other events that helped seal America's fate.
1913 Federal Reserve Act
1933 Gold Confiscation Act
1935 Social Security Act
1964 and 1968 Civil Rights Act
...and others I don't feel like looking up.
The reason why it will never get fixed is because although Americans like to put up an image that they are tough and hard working, most in fact are not. Most people here are a bunch of lazy assed cowards who run away or come up with excuse when something needs to be done. Most are afraid of losing what they have. They hope the house of cards will stay up a little longer until they die. After that, they don't care.

You are lost and need to be set straight.
Obamacare caused most people's premiums to skyrocket. I used to pay $125 a month for Group Health in Seattle. Very good plan. I tried to sign up on the Healthcare.gov site and the cheapest was $279. Ridiculous.
My girlfirend works at Olive Garden. They cancelled her plan when the ACA kicked in. No more insurance offered. Nothing. She tried to sign up for Obamacare, the website said she made too LITTLE, that she couldn't even buy insurance and she could only get Medicaid.
Gun control under Clinton was more than background checks. It limited magazines to 10 rounds, and banned certain rifles and labeled them as "assualt weapons."
And poor people in the south proves the GOP is bad? So the Dems are to blame for all the poor in the big cities, right? And the highest crime rates? Democrat controlled cities.
And the true racists? Democrats. They keep minorities down. Give them handouts and keep them in low income housing away from everyone. They tell them the big bad white man is holding them back so here is some free food and free rent just stay in this neighborhood away from us.
Who the hell is paying for Obamacare????
Oh shit there is a mirror in the room.
I am so tired of this shit about Republicans being racists! So ignorant really. When people bring that up, I know who the bigot in the room is. Pure prejudice.
Yeah...My premiums have increased 140% between the 2014 increase and the 2015 increase and my deductible when from $1,000.00 to $15,000.00. And I am told I won't see the "real" economic impact until '16 or '17. That makes me pretty nervous.
The problem with background checks is they, to the best I can tell, haven't had any real impact on violent crime, but do carry a real cost. They impact a fundamental individual right, and therefore any restriction should have a real, measurable impact on a legitimate governmental concern. And, I would add, Clinton's gun control was FAR more restrictive than background checks. That is the only part that didn't have a sunset clause. If we still had the full package you wouldn't be able to buy certain guns because the look scary.
The rest of the items on your list are general wedge issues that BOTH parties leverage when it suits them.
I do take issue with the idea that there is Christian bashing on any sort of organized large scale. Being told that you can no longer discriminate against non-christians/non-believers in the public arena is NOT christian bashing.

No, I meant more so remarks like "clinging to their guns and religion".
Then there's the media ripping on Romney over his faith. There are many examples. I though democrats wanted to

I'm glad you like you're Obamacare Wolfie. Since I and many others are paying for it while our premiums have increased. You make it sound like we also get to pay for part of your sports car, bike, and guns. What's that called? Hmm....Oh I know. SOCIALISM i.e. redistribution of wealth.
Gay Marriage occurred because Obama wanted votes. He used it near the end of his first term to get reelected which friends of mine who are gay think was disingenuous.
Gun control under Clinton was 10 round magazines and a continual pandering to anti-gun groups. AR-15 prices skyrocketed.
I want government to leave me alone.
I want less of it.
I want to be allowed to make some money with government not taking more of to give away.
I want government to follow the rules we set down at the founding of the country and not make up their own.
Look at the things Obama is trying to impose on the internet. Those are rules to make what YOU are allowed to do more inline with what he thinks you should do.
Why is it that most Republican's I know don't care how you choose to live your life, while the Democrats I know want to tell me how I should live my life?

Gay Marriage failed as the REPUBLICANS failed to get a marriage amendment after they ran on it in 2000,2002,2004 and 2006.
I really don't care what two, or more, consenting adults want to do in their own place. I also don't care whether or not hey want to get married.
I do think it is odd that they want to get "married" when they can already have a civil union which is legally the exact same thing. For some reason the gays have to use the same word.
Around here Republicans are more obsessed about homosexuality than homos.
