Pretty funny.

Staged? Who knows.

I don't care if it was staged of not - I haven't laughed so hard in a long time - I watched 4 times in a row - had to turn it off - fantastic.

When I worked (volunteered) at my local police department, the officers were not allowed to listen to radios or tape players (no CDs back then). The department claimed they couldn't hear what was going on around them. They couldn't even listen to music while on break or at lunch unless the music was playing where they ate (like a restaurant).

What is the purpose of recording that view anyways?

This appears staged to me.  Especially at 1:58 - 2:04 where he appears to acknowledge someone outside the drivers side of the car, then executes a right turn which pans the field of view on that side and it is only an empty field.  Plus, choreography is pretty good for spur of the moment.  Also, the audio is clearly NOT the dashcam mic.  Could have been dubbed over the actual video, but the whole thing just appears staged.

The dash cam is to monitor what is going on outside the car.  A camera mounted like this one would usually only be activated if the officer were transporting a suspect or prisoner.  Some departments may run both cams all the time though.

So you are saying the Dover P.D. is lying?

Even the Dover PD refers to the video being "made".  Not posted, made.  That leads me to believe this is a PR stunt.

They say in reviewing some of the Dash Cam videos, they would like to share with you some...Dash Cam Confessionals. In order to protect the officer, maybe they did a remake of one that occurred....however, there is no disclosure stating that.
