Title: First impression is positive. New Kimber
Post by: Kimber10mm on January 02 2015 04:48:15 PM MST
:) Just fired my new Kimber Eclipse Custom two and low and behold it works!. I fired 50 rounds of my own hand loaded ammo using 7.0 grs of Auto Comp and a 180 grain commercial cast RNFP. This is the same bullet one would shoot in a 38-40 revolver and I have found that in numerous 40 cal pistols it always feeds well.
My last 1911 in 10mm was a Dan Wesson Razorback and as much as I liked the pistol, it proved to be a jam-a-matic and was sold at a great loss. That is why I was a little apprehensive about laying out the big bucks for yet another 10mm Model 1911. I can tell this pistol is a shooter! No problems encountered except when I tried one magazine from another Mfg. (Tripp) and had one premature slide lock. That magazine was retired and the factory magazine and pistol were flawless. Shooting nice round groups at 12 paces with a two hand hold, standing. I still have plenty of brass from prior pistols including a Glock 20 that would not feed well with a Lone Wolf barrel and was also sold.
Hopefully this one is going to stay around a long, long time.
This is my first post here but I will post more later as I shoot the pistol over the coming months.

What year was the RZ10? They re did them after 2012

The Kimber is sweet, I had to send mine back, but it came back perfect.

Enjoy the Eclipse they may not be making them in 10MM anymore.

That RZ 10 was probably about 2010?

This is almost my exact same scenario, started with a Glock 20SF. I just bought this one today.

Stopped by the LGS to say hello and get some coffee and low and behold, there is a Kimber Stainless Target in 10mm.  Well I put it on the special lay away plan I have with the owner. (I get to take them with me while they are on law away!)

Despite the 24 degree F weather, I went out to the range and zeroed it. I shot about 50 rds of handloads, two different recipes, every round flawless, despite only a few dabs of some sort of Sports machine lube (Like auto tranny fluid) Trigger is a trifle heavy, but very clean and crisp.

Of course a new set of VZ Op II's are in order. I also think I will try and order a set of target night sights like the ones that come on a Grand Raptor.

I have been wanting a 1911 in 10mm for a while now.

Handloads right now are:

Xtreme copper coated 180 grn FP round nose bullet
Starline nickel plated brass
7.9 grn of PowerPistol. I have a lighter load of 7.3 grns as well.

Oh, I heard you guys do pictures here.
