Title: Breaking in my new G20
Post by: 94toy22re on December 27 2014 09:26:15 PM MST
New to the forum, and i have a virgin Glock 20 gen 3, I traded in a Taurus Pt101P for the 10mm.
I have a lone Wolf barrel and a 22lbs spring. So whats a good starting load?

Starline brass
Hodgdon cfe pistol powder
CCI primers
155gr hard cast from Precision bullets

Max load from Hodgdon is 9.2 grns / 1409 fps / 34,900 PSI

Welcome to the forum
CFE seems to track well with the published data on hodgdon's site...
They show 9.2 with the JHP @ 1400 you would likely see about the same or more with the cast bullet.

I hope the bullets are sized to 0.4010"-0.4015"

They may work just fine, as they are coated bullets.  My concerns were about leading of the barrel, cast bullets have to be about 0.002" over and slugging the barrel is the only way to be sure.  Being coated they will be just fine.

I have had good luck with Lone Wolf Dist. barrels with several varieties of my own cast bullets in 0.3565" running at 357Sig and 9x25Dillon speeds...non coated alloy with carnauba red lube.

Just posting to say it's good to see a fellow 22re fan, one of my favorite motors. I'm a full blown old Toyota truck junkie. I'm on my 6th 84 to 88 truck.
