Hello everyone....new member from CT. I own 1911's in .45 and one Glock 17 gen2 9mm but no 10mm as yet.
Would like some help from you guys in identifying what manufacturers produced a 1911 10mm pre-ban
which would be prior to Sept. 1994. Would want it in a full size 5" or 6".
I know of the Colt Delta Elite. Did Kimber make one back then?
Others in a 1911 full size?
ETA: The reason I am looking for pre-bans is because there is a good chance I may want to have it suppressed and that's the only way I could install a threaded barrel here in CT.
Welcome to the Forum EWS
The other 1911s other than the Colt Delta Line were:
L.A.R. Grizzly
Auto Ordnance Core 1911
Springfield Armory Omega and S.A. Trophy
Federal Ordnance PSP
Ed Brown's Mazi-Comp Delta
And the IAI Javalina
Just the ones I know of
Yes, another welcome to the forum!
There was the Laser Aim and Wyoming Arms Parker 10mm S.S

Excellent. Of these which are considered to be ones to stay away from? Or, how would you rank them in terms of reliability and fit?

I have heard sketchy reports about the Parker....that they were a AMT knockoff.
In my (very limited) opinion
The top would be:
The S.A. Omega because it uses the Peter Stahl Linkless Barrel
The Ed Brown's Mazi-Comp Delta
The Grizzly
And (of course) the Delta Gold Cup
From the Field Tests I've read, the Omega has the tightest average Groups (second only to the S&W 1006)
Then comes the Ed Brown Delta, the Delta Gold Cup and the Federal Ordnence
On the lower end is the IAI Javalina, which is too bad, 'cause it is the coolest, with its monster 7" Barrel

Are you including the Colt Delta Elite in there? I was very interested in the Stainless version.
Did Kimber produce a 10mm back then? They have been around since the late 70's.
The Delta Elites are very nice too
Their Chambers do have limited support, so your Pressures do have to be watched when using the higher end Rounds
That's why the Omega's Linkless Set-up is so good

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe so
I think the Eclipse 10mm came-out in the later 90s early 2000 (not sure exactly)

That link shows two models...the Omega and the standard 5" linkless. Which one were you referring to?

The Omega is the 10mm
Peter Stahl made a Linkless 1911 in 45acp too

Yeah...was looking at that but it looks to have a tag on it that says 2004. Not quite a pre ban year.

This one may be Pre-Ban:

Call Springfield and give them the Serial Number (NM65579), they'll tell you the Manufacturing Year
