Wow! It figures. Just when I'm getting ready to get an Elite Match, the prices take a significant jump. Bummer! My friendly local FFL is going to see if he can save me a few bucks off Bud's retail, but I still feel like I just missed the last bus to a sunny day. Anybody know why the prices are going up? Is it an exchange rate thing or something temporary for the Christmas season? Should I buy now or wait a month to see what happens? DAMN!
Not sure what prices you were expecting, but the Elite Match's on Gunbroker right now are in line with the price I paid for mine 5-6 years ago. What price are you being quoted?
Yeah, that gun has been around 600 dollars plus minus for quite a while.
Bud's price on it has jumped twice in the past few weeks. The CC price was around 570. Now it's 608. Merry Christmas?
I guess they have been going up. Still well worth the money unless you can wait.
From what I can tell by watching Gallery and Impact guns, Tanfoglio seems to ship inventory once or twice a year, then you can't find them for a while. They were $570 for about 2 years or more so a 6% hike isn't much.
I put off buying one years ago because of 10mm gun breakage but that was with the older pistols.
Got mine for 568 a few months back. Cant recommend it enough. Love that gun. Holds 14+1 and shoots as well if not better than many high grade 1911's.
Isn't the Elite Match single action? No thanks. I wouldn't pay $50 for a single action Witness. I'd pay the extra money and go with a Stock 1.
Ahhh but it's easy to be whatever you want it to be. You can convert it to DA/SA with parts easily. Just add the Limited Pro parts and you will for sure have buyers for the SA stuff.

How much to convert it? If it's cheaper than a Stock it just might be worth it. But I wouldn't leave it single action.
If you offset the cost with selling of the parts. Otherwise the Stock or Pro would be close in price.

I totally agree with this. I bought my match because it was single action. I wouldn't have a D A. Unless it was my carry gun.
This is of course why they offer it both ways. It's all preference.
The 3.5# two stage trigger is what I like most about the pistol.
I feel like I stole mine brand new for $370. :P
