Title: Any real world experience with Controlled Fracturing Hollow Points?
Post by: Buckeye 50 on November 29 2014 05:50:39 PM MST
I liked the gel test results, which I know full well are not like human tissue.  So was wondering if anyone knows anything about any real world results?  Bullets are from Lehigh Defense and I bought my from Underwood.

Thanks,

Pat

CCI makes a controlled fracture 22LR cartridge. It works as claimed.

I have seen frangible (compressed powdered metal) bullets break when they feed from the magazine and jam the gun.

The bullets from Lehigh are not compressed powder, but are solids with fracture lines designed into them. they have a solid base and three fracturing petals that pull away from the base of the bullet. Cutting Edge has been using the same design for their large game and Raptor line of rifle bullets for a couple of years now.

Mrgunsngear recently did a test with Underwood's Controlled Fracture @ 460 Rowland....  Still not exactly what we're looking for but interesting none the less.
