Title: About to start reloading...
Post by: radiotom on October 31 2014 05:53:07 PM MDT
I'm about to start reloading. The first thing I want to work up to are some 180 Gold Dots going about 1250 from 4.6 inch. I'm gonna stick em in Starline brass.

Now,
What's a good flash-suppressed powder to use?
Also, primer, I don't think it really matters, but does anybody have a recommendation for those?

Alliant BE-86 is touted to be flash suppressed, but finding this powder has been a challenge. :o

180 grain over 8.2 grains @ 1,256 fps :D

I don't remember too much flash from almost anything I've shot in 10mm. I have used Unique, Blue Dot, 800x, HP 38, and Titegroup so far.

Congrats on starting the new adventure ;D, I think most people would be astonished if they new how simple and inexpensive it can be to get started. About your powder question, that's kinda hit or miss (availability). Buying powder on line is expensive with the shipping fees. Be safe and have fun !!!
