I know, it is for a .412 boolit. It would be no problem to size this down using a sizing die to fit a .401 bore

I have seen NOE molds up close and personal, though I have not had the funds to purchase one yet. This mold comes with a flat nose pin and a HP pin as part of the purchase price.
This would be a solid hunting round, and I have asked having a "Dish" pin made for mine. I have seen other boolits in .35 caliber and up that have a dish rather than a full HP that is just devestating on furred muscled critters.

Pinsnscrews, one thing to keep in mind is the amount of bullet that is seated outside the 10mm casing.
10mm casing is 0.9900" and COAL is between 1.250" and 1.260" so that only leaves 0.2800" and 0.2700" of bullet sticking past the casing. Some 10mm cases are slightly shorter with some being 0.9750"...
When you are trying to securely apply a crimp to the bullet to prevent setback issues the portion of the nose has to be such that it is large enough diameter to hold securely.
Wide MEPLAT or even HP's can have the tipping angle be too long even when seated at the normal COAL, this is why we see the WFN (wide flat nose) cast bullets seated down to 0.2420" to help with feeding issues.
Don't waste you money till you understand all what's involved and hopefully something that will work correctly!

I was aware of the tipping issue from the prior thread regarding .41mag bullets in the 10mm. Thank you for adding that to this thread though for others. I had actually considered possibly trying to seat to 1.24 and use load data from the 40S&W, possibly with a filler if needed to get 100% fill.
I have a 10mm barrel in the works for my TC Contender as well. There is no tipping issue in a break action ;) I need the mold now to cast up some samples and build a couple of dummy rounds to send to the smith who will be chambering the barrel (Mike Bellm) so he can chamber the throat to work the best with the chosen bullet. I want to get as close to 240gr as possible as I feel that is the ideal weight for heavy critters like Mulies and Elk.
If you are working with the T/C, you can have the chamber and lead cut to accept longer loaded bullets. :D If getting a barrel why not go to a 10mm magnum? ???
If there is one thing that is a drawback for the 10mm, it is the shorter amount of bullet outside the casing, which I was trying to explain, based on semi auto pistol constraints.
I want to use the TC to test loads. With the cost of the pressure testing gauges being what they are, and one of the manufacturers being within driving distance, I was going to pressure test loads. Having it cut to match the bullet is simply for Hunting purposes, though it might also get used for IHMSA.
Also, if I was going to go 10mm Mag, I would just go .41 mag as the TC likes rimmed cartridges better than Rimless.
I am suprised he is calling it a WFN. The meplat looks to be less than a LFN. I am sure it will be a good shooter.

The short distance from ofive to nose is why he went wide flat instead of Long Flat. True it is an 83% meplat instead of the usual 90%+, but I think it was to counter the feeding issues The_Shadow pointed out.
I will know once the molds get made and I get mine.
