I have been wanting to get both to see how what's there. Hopefully by next weekend I might have both to try out.
I dont see the beartootbs on their page was this a special loading?
They are being loaded this week. I asked to be on the reserve list ;D
Have any idea what velocity they are looking to achieve?
My guess is 1200 FPS to match the XTP's rating.

1200 is a good #
I received the Freedom Munitions 180gr's today and will be testing them tomorrow.

Freedom 180gr FMJ
EAA Elite Limited 4.75" 1070, 1082, 1063, 1071, 1057. Average = 1062 FPS/ 451 LBS. Pretty far off the 1200 FPS advertised and not real 10mm.
Also ran a couple of repeats:
American Quality Ammo 180gr FMJ
EAA Elite Limited 4.75" 984, 993, 959, 970, 953. Average = 971.8 FPS/ 378 LBS. Screams .40 Cal and last time out it gave a 995 FPS average.
Precision Cartridge Company 180gr LRN
EAA Elite Limited 4.75" 1114, 1134, 1146, 1105, 1157. Average = 1131.2 FPS/ 512 LBS
Anthony said today G20 = 1215 FPS:
200 lead comes in just over 1200FPS in our G20 with excellent SD. As a matter of fact, they are the lowest SD I've seen out of that gun, one string has an ES of 4FPS. SD was a max of 9FPS throughout all the test loads with the powders we tried out. Those are some well made bullets, very nice overall.
I need to test them in some other guns, I'm loading them at 1.270" to line-up with the crimp groove perfectly and I want to make sure they'll feed.
Hopefully 1230-1240 in the Pro.
I can't wait to run some in my Witness.. keep us posted :)
Sounds quite promising. Are these available yet?
Will be my new woods load if they all go bang in my g20sf, need to get now!! Hurry up pbr
It's taking longer trying to get them to feed in all platforms :o
The doublecrap always go bang and never hang up in my g3 and g4 20's. Just wosh they were loaded 50 fps faster
add an inch of barrel length :D
Anthony said again today how nice those bullets and results were. He's trying to get a production lot of them to keep the pipeline filled.
Disappointed to hear that about the Freedom Munitions 10mm. I was hoping I'd found the perfect target/practice ammo at 1200fps and cheap enough at $22.25 per 50. As long as it all goes bang, I'll be satisfied tho, at that price. Wonder if their XTP rounds are just as anemic?

My 500 rounds of Freedom Munitions 180 grain 10mm arrived. I only got to shoot one mag, but here is what I did. I put 5 rounds of Freedom Munitions and 5 rounds of Georgia Arms 180 grain FMJ's alternating them in the mag.
Freedom Munitions is published at 1200 fps and Georgia Arms at 1100 fps. Your test confirms what I felt. (I do not own a chronograph) It was very obvious that the Freedom Munitions was considerably weaker than the Georgia Arms and is without a doubt, the weakest ammo I have put thru my short 10mm career. It's more like mid range .40 S&W from this ballistics chart. http://www.ballistics101.com/40_caliber_sw.php
I have found the same to be true with their .357 Magnum ammo. It's more like weak Cowboy loads. I've never had a problem with Freedom Munitions, and have shot thousands of rounds of it. It's available, priced reasonable and always goes bang. It's good range ammo, but if you want to practice with 10mm that is more like 10mm, Freedom Munitions may not be what you want.
The 1200 fps written on the box in ink is my handwriting, and is what Freedom Munitions claims on their website.

Any updates on the Beartooth progress?
Anthony sent mine out yesterday. I will have them and all the other untested rounds shortly.
For 1200 FPS one of the PBR offerings might be the best bang for the buck. Their Premium 180's tested higher than expected.

Yep without a chronograph you are working blindly and one of the reasons for many of us posting here is to let people know what is what as sold.
Intercooler's spreadsheets have plenty document loadings...The pull-down section shows what makes them go like they do. ;)

I'm just going by felt recoil for my impressions. Every once in a while, I think about getting a Chrono just to have fun with the different factory loadings, and if powder ever becomes available and I can actually start purchasing reloading equipment, a chrono would be very handy to have.
I did some searching for Intercooler's spreadsheets, but could not find them. Probably under my nose, but do you have a link to them?
Look here in his Google docs...http://10mm-firearms.com/factory-10mm-ammo/10mm-factory-ammo-master-sheet/ (http://10mm-firearms.com/factory-10mm-ammo/10mm-factory-ammo-master-sheet/)
Real 10mm doesn't really take a Chrony. When it's real, you won't mistake it! ;D
Real 10mm tears apart the skyscreens, and changes the weather pattern in the area for six months. :P
^^ LMAO :))

There is a distinct difference between Freedom Munitions 180 grain and Underwood 180 grain, but having a Chrony would be fun, even if I don't reload, and 10mm wouldn't be the only thing I played with.

That's great!! Any idea when they will offer them on their website?
The Freedom Munitions gets a lot of ink over on the GlockID website. The only problem is, you have to be a member to be able to look at the forum.
The membership is free though. 8)
They have 24 boxes of the Premium 180's in stock currently.
Here is where they tested out form me at 1283 FPS:
http://10mm-firearms.com/factory-10mm-ammo/pbr-premium-180gr-fmj-and-hsm-180gr-fmj/
They had the 10mm recoil and the results of the HSM ran at the same time show it was correct. My only question is the box rating is 1177 FPS on those. Kind of odd!
The pull-down for this round showed 13.6gr's of #9: http://10mm-firearms.com/factory-10mm-ammo-pull-downs/parabellum-research-pbr-180gr-fmj-premium-line-pull-down/ Their V-Supreme which gave 1317 FPS average had 14.6gr's of #9 which also makes sense for the results (can you confirm Shadow?). This is a hell of a round for the money and I need to get another box for a re-test.
I received a FedEx ship notification today for the 200's. Hopefully they will be here by the weekend.
is it the weekend :P
Almost. I got some bad news from Anthony on these :( He is looking at other options because these have a 26 week wait.
So this is not something they are going to be offering to the public anytime soon
With that wait time he is looking for other options. It's impossible to do a production run like that.
Damn. Beartooth is so damn popular there is a 26 week wait for components. I wanted to back up the truck on this stuff. Well 6 mos from now maybe we will see some beartooth pbr and for now they can load a substitute.
If these are what they're cracked up to be I wouldn't mind swapping my old doubletaps for these.
They should test out okay from what I have seen. It's just a shame because Anthony REALLY REALLY likes these bullets... and can't get them!
What if he buys them directly from double tap.
I don't think that would work out too well. They will probably just end up offering a Rim Rock 220.
Could always load both.
The PBR 200gr's arrived today. I have a few other ones with it too.

Looks good !
Its all about that meplat, bout that meplat, no round nose.
Damn, I thought it was all about that Blast, bout that Blast! Not Trouble! ;D
Today looks like my best shot at doing these. That's the plan.
Okay :) The Beartooth tested out about perfect given the 1215 FPS Anthony said they achieved in the Glock 4.6" barrel.
200gr Beartooth HC
EAA Elite Limited 4.75" 1236, 1250, 1233, 1234. Average = 1238.25 FPS/ 681 LBS These are stout, about perfect!
165 JHP loaded to 165 FMJ STD
EAA Elite Limited 4.75" 1273, 1260, 1263, 1274. Average = 1267.5 FPS/ 589 LBS
200 JHP loaded to 200 FMJ STD
EAA Elite Limited 4.75" 1178, 1177, 1192, 1170. Average = 1179.25 FPS/ 618 LBS
155 JHP loaded to 155 FMJ STD
1391, 1370, 1369, 1362, 1345. Average = 1367.5 FPS/ 644 LBS
Are these JHP loaded to FMJ standard rounds something new?
No. I think it's what they had (possibly running) and they put these together for me to finish up the lineup.
Looks like they are some good numbers, The JHPs being slightly longer should run a little more pressure if using the FMJ loadings.
Good #s for the beartooth
Hope I can get my hands on some to try
If we could figure out the Granite supplier (I saw the MT Bullet Co is for sale) to supply a similar bullet... PBR can do the rest!

I managed to get the pdf of offerings. They list it as a 205gr.
Could be an option for PBR
I want em!!!

Okay, because I think their regular JHP rounds were hotter.
Yes, the JHP loads are hotter.
