I had to do a Hydroboost change out on my GMC 2500HD, I had ordered a AC rebuilt unit from RockAuto Parts...$150.
I started at 9am and took my time, but didn't finish till 11:45am, one set back was the spring clip on the brake pedal flew off and disappeared somewheres under the dash, managed to find it behind the wiring harness that goes through the firewall...Thank God! It was a PITA but Got-R-Done, a few bleeding scrapes, tons of sweat and sore back! Its hell to get older, you don't bend, move as easy as when you are younger.
I could have bought a rebuild kit to fix my leaking unit, but decided to go with a rebuilt unit instead...
Here is what was involved in the change out, thank God for people who post these videos

Now I need to go to the tire shop for a front end alignment and tire check... ???
Tomorrow sharpening blades on the lawn mower and blowing leaves off the roof of the house and shop...
Saturday I get to help my oldest finish the auto-to-manual window switch on her bronco. Got the old regulator out easy breezy, but took forever to figure out how the new one oriented. Not the same. Still have to figure out what to do for a door panel. But, manual cranks rarely fail.
I have to replace the electric regulator in my truck and the wife's car, have the parts, waiting till it gets cooler. :'(
Today, I got the roof blown off and cleaned up all the pine needles and leaves. Burning those... Oh and those pinecones the squirrels tore up or dropped on the roof, they sound like baseballs when they hit. Sprayed the weed killer along the open ditch out front. ;)
Tomorrow is lawn mower maintenance, sharpening the blades and replacing a belt for the deck, then if the weather holds, I'll start cutting again. Never a dull moment! ::)
One thing that blows about the Bronco regulators is they are riveted in. So you have to drill out the rivets, and then re-install the new one with bolts and nuts. Figuring out how to fit your hand in there and hold the bolt, the regulator and put on the washer and nuts on the outside requires more hands than I have. Glad it is my daughter's Bronco and I am just "advising".
I hear ya sqlbullet! It is always something to put a damper on the progress...
Today even with my back being sore as all get out, I tackled the lawn tractor maintenance, remove the deck, sharpen the 3 blades, new deck belt for the blades, old belt broke a few weeks ago, put a used stretch belt on just to finish last time. Aired up tires, cleaned air filter, fueled up, then cut my mom's grass 2 1/2 hours and some of mine for an hour. The recent rains put me behind on the cutting and so the grass took off growing wildly over the last few weeks, it was just barely dry enough to get it done. Rain is expected this week end again, so I ahead of the curve for now. :D
Tomorrow, it isn't repairs for me. It is painting. The drywall guys finished the basement yesterday, so I have to prime tomorrow afternoon/evening, then paint saturday morning. Need to be done by Monday as the flooring crew shows up then.
You're gonna be a busy man! Good luck!
