OK: I am 62, feel 32, act 22 (except for some arthritis) and am getting deep into tactical training. For my training, I use (no, I am NOT kidding) my Glock 20 and H&K USP Compact 45. I alternate both so I get familiar with both tactically.
So, everything was going fine until last week when we all had to hit-the-deck and shoot on our stomachs. Yeah, you guessed it; we were on the concrete range floor.
I will be getting my cortisone shot for my knee this Thursday and shoulder next week. THEN, it's back to training.
Like I tell my adult boys, "Deal with it!"
Thanks for letting me rant (at my age).
Pat
Pat, I'm not far behind you at 59+, the rant isn't a bad thing as some of our younger audience can take a few notes from us about getting up in wisdom! ;)
I sometimes suffer with my lower back and one of my knees (bad knees run in my family) shoulder and neck are a wreck and have cause degeneration of my left elbow...heavy fire service duties to include EMS and Haz-Mat response & mitigations, I had worked construction and water well drilling jobs as well, all took their toll. Never had any cortisone shots though and I continue pushing, but not as hard as I used to. :-[
Shadow;
I hear you. My problem is my mind and my heart are getting far beyond what the body WANTS to do!
Pat
I'm 63 although I have a separated shoulder that has healed without being surgically corrected. I do all-kinds of physical events, ride a 1098S Ducati and K1200S BMW. Two weeks ago I did a complete suspension upgrade on my 4x4 TRD including Kings reservoir shocks all the way around, Total Chaos UCAs and Dakar Expedition Leafs. Without a lift and all by my self.
I would tell you how far I swim, how far I run and much more..... quit whining !!
You big sissy :)
I'm 59 and when I wake up, I consider that the high point of my day.
