Don't know if this applies to other stores in the chain but the local one has CCI 22LR Standard Velocity in bricks of 500rds. First I've seen in a long time. It's also the best choice for my S&W 41.
Price was 39.95.
How about a little better deal! Slap on some points discounts and out the door for a $20.

Good price, IC, but standard velocity 22 (1000-1100) is recommended for the 41 Smith...and what I used to set up the red dot.
I got some Federal bulk pack (550) for about that price a week or so back at the local Bass Pro. Maybe it's beginning to loosen up as I've picked up over 3k rds of 22 lr over the last few weeks locally. No shipping charges... 8)
You ever get a Smith 41? Seems I remember you posting once about maybe buying one. Fine pistols.
Not yet on the 41. Why so slow for the velocity? It's one of the only .22's with springs available to run hyper-velocity.
True enough, springs are available, but I don't see the need. Supposedly it's a target pistol not a long range hunter. If the term even applies to 22 pistols. :) It is quite accurate with the std velocity.....why beat up the gun with higher velocity ammo. Just my opinion, as I'm sure others do otherwise.

The more accurate the pistol, the more you appreciate standard velocity .22LR ammo.
I have the remnants of cases of a couple flavors of Eley, Federal 711b standard target, SK Standard plus, Wolf match extra, and some left over CCI SV. If I look hard enough I'm sure I can find some HV ammo, but I just don't shoot much of it anymore. Good guns cry out for subsonic fodder.

Well done Greg. Much better reply than mine. My reason for the original post was that this was the first SV I've seen in quite some time. Some of the old High Standard pistols would develop cracks if HV was shot routinely. Whether it would 'hurt' the Smith or not, I don't want to find out.
Dicks on a Sunday morning is the best shot at getting 22 LRs. Check the flyer online and if they sell it, it will be posted. Get there before 12 if you want some.
Also Dicks has been the best for me for 22 mags, Winchesters for $13 a box and they have it in stock.
Got a box of 500 Thunderbolts at Dicks for $25 today.
Looks like the 22 shortage is over, grabbed 5 boxes of 50 Federal Blue box for $2.50 and they had a ton left on Friday.
I do not shoot 22, but I grab them for my kids who are allowed to shoot rifles at my range once they hit 12 years old.
When my local Wally Worlds both have .22lr on the shelf at 8pm, then I will consider the shortage over ;-)
Sadly, there are still a large number of people buying from scalpers here locally, so it may be awhile yet.
Its there till 12 the latest, getting there.

I went back two days later and was allowed to buy two bricks of the CCI. That was several weeks ago now. Surprised that they advertise it.......haven't seen any ads from Dick's, Bass Pro, or Academy here for 22 in a long time. Seen more of it at Bass Pro lately but it still sells out within a day. I'm referring to 3-5 hundred round bricks, not smaller boxes.
