Title: EDC for Maryland. Can't believe I said that
Post by: Intercooler on July 31 2012 09:19:23 PM MDT
AK is on hold since Aug. 7th is the magical day. I plan on applying but realize even if I get it nothing in the stable fits the bill! I'm thinking a 9mm will be the better option for capacity and size. The new XDS .45 looks killer but limited on the capacity. Also a DA/SA or striker fire but so guess I need to put a list together. I also want a laser option and either a pocket or waist-band carry.

Off the shelf I would suggest a G29.  10mm, decent capacity, smallish size.  Looking at the specs compared to the XDS 45, the G29 is the same height, .25" longer and .27" wider.  The XDS is 3 oz lighter, unloaded.  Gonna be more delta loaded, since the G29 has almost twice the round count.

I gotta say, after several years of concealed carry of a full size Witness, and now a 1911 5" wide body, those both sound deliciously easy to conceal.

If you are going 9mm, my old standby recommendation is always G19.  Small, light, good capacity, mild recoil, ubiquitous ammo, gazillion accessories.

There's always the G33.  Smaller than a G29, but still shooting something capable of putting a bit more hurt on target over 9 or 40.  Well, all IMHO of course. ;D
