Title: Glock 29 success
Post by: Dave84 on August 02 2014 02:51:58 PM MDT
Had another fun day at the range. Glock 29 with stock recoil springs ate up UW 200 gr and 180 gr with no problems whatsoever. I've had the slide outrun the magazine in the past with 155 grain. The installation of the Ghost Edge trigger connector has greatly increased the usefulness of the Glock trigger. I hate Glock stock triggers - this thing feels nearly as good as my PPQ now. Carry with confidence I say and never have your finger near the trigger unless ready to fire.

Looks great. What mag extension do you use? Is it fully reliable? I failed to get the Pearce +2 to work and the Arredondo even.

What barrel is that?

Its a LW 2 port barrel (4.6" ? )- has performed flawlessly for me - fired almost 300 rds before I had to tap the end of the slide to seat it to fire - I was curious as to how many rds I could fire before I really needed to clean it.
Two sweeps of the bore snake and I was of and running again - on my LW the chamber support is great - though I heard some others didn't have such great chamber support :o ?  All three of my LWs where great - 2 20s and 1 29. :)

I carry my 29 every day and I love it! 95% of the energy I get from my 20 and 25 rounds available with just an extra magazine.

G29

10mm

40 conversion

357 conversion

What is there not to love?

Even though I am a 1911 10MM fan, love the RZ 10, Eclipse and Delta, the Glock is always ready to rock.

Very nice.  Congrats!

I do believe the "shorter" G29 frames are stiffer than the frames of their larger brothers and thus work better with stock springs.

My first Glock was the G-29 (pre SF), I have run it with the factory RSA and barrel, but also have Storm Lake 10mm and 40S&W conversion barrels stock length and also LWD 357Sig and 9x25Dillon stock length barrels that have added to her flexibility.  I added a non captive Wolff dual recoil rod and 21lb spring set for most of my shooting needs, but have 23 lb spring set as well.  It has served me well over the years... :D
