I'm looking to buy my first 10mm firearm and I really like look of these little pistols, but the EAA brand doesn't have the greatest reputation in the world when it comes to their less expensive models. Tanfoglio on the other hand is a reputable firm so they can't be all that bad right? If you own one of these pistols I'd love to hear your opinion on them as far as reliabilty and durability.
You will want to chat with Intercooler here on the forum, he and a few others have the EAA 10mm's. Intercooler has tested all sorts of ammo through his EAA guns. It seem the upper end guns have been the better models...
Good luck! :D
Which model in particular are you looking at? Which ever one you choose, it's best to make sure it takes the K-10 14 round mags first. If you are looking for a Polymer the P-Carry is that beast. If you go Steel (I'm a Steel man), they all seem to work fine since the switch to K-10 magazines. You can't go wrong with a Match on up to Hunter in Steel and they are good mild to wild.
I have two Tanfoglio pistols. One I love and one I have had nothing but trouble.
The Limited Pro is strong and ultra reliable. I would recommend one in a heartbeat. As Intercooler specifies, it runs a K10 magazine (14 round).
I also have a compact steel which runs a 12 round magazine. If it can be made to run well, I have not figured out how to do it. Tried different springs in different places and I would call it utterly unreliable. Its a shame because it feels so good, points so well, and is accurate as can be, but the next shot is never a sure thing. Its all because they cannot make a magazine, and no one that can has bothered to take up the project. I really wanted this for carry, but have gone with the CZ-2075 instead.
Th your heart is set on a compact steel, I can make a deal!!! I don't recommend it though.

Stay away from the compact metal. Mag's suck and it's an abortion.
I have the match and have not had any problems with it. It is fun to shoot and I am glad I got it.

In Lieu of going with a Standard Compact, I went Semi Compact
Full Sized Frame with a Compact Upper
All the benefits of the Full Sized Lower with the Compact length
My DTD Carry

Then I added a 22lr and a 10mm Longslide

Thank you for the information, I really like the the polymere Witness P compact model and I'll probably order one tomorrow. I'm looking forward to my first 10mm. These guns might not have the best reputation but they're inexpensive and I like the size and looks of them. I've bought guns that don't have the best reputation in the past and have been pleased with most of them.
I've heard good things about the one that uses 15 round mags. I'd go that way.
