I see these available here and there for just over $1,000-$1,200 and wonder if anyone owns one. My understanding from ad copy is these are all-stainless pistols, and I just wonder if anyone is impressed with how they're put together. I'm not sure I need a single-stack longslide in 10, but I don't need another beer, either. I would be most interested in fit and finish, general reliability with what you're fired in it, how you found the trigger right out of the box and whether parts appear to be of good quality
I don't own one. But they're black, Ion Bond finish. Single stack.
If you're in the market for this, I would also look at the EAA witness Hunter.
Yes, I have the Witness Hunter and like it a lot..especially the fact it's all steel and a double-stack with very little added grip width over a 1911. What I don't care for so much is the trigger (it's okay) and the rear adjustable sight (mine is always loose). It's a very nicely made auto pistol with exceptional fit and finish (except for that trigger) It would have been nice had PO chosen a double stack frame for theirs--something like the Dan Wesson Titan frame.
I've got one and it has been flawless after 4,000+ rounds, mostly Underwood. Accuracy is also excellent. I did have one hiccup that I attribute to myself limp writing it after a long day of working/shooting. The trigger out of the box is not great, gritty with some creep. It would be nice if Para offered a doublestack 10mm but they seem to be having problems with they're doublestack mags and they are currently redesigning them so there is hope. You can forget a commander size 10mm from Para, they won't do it. They say that they wouldn't be able to cover it under their lifetime warranty, go figure. The barrel in the LS Hunter is a Storm Lake, extractor is outstanding, fit and finish on mine is very nice and it's tight enough. The LS Hunter was a very limited run, very limited. They may run some more later but as for now production has stopped.

I thought the hunter had the single action trigger like my witness match, is that not the case? If not you could consider converting to single action that might help your trigger issue.
PS I'm not dissing the para LS Hunter at all. I just don't have one

Yes you're correct--it's a single action and I guess I should try harder to separate the actual feel and performance of the trigger from it's appearance and non-performance aspects. So, in a blind 'feel' test I guess I'd have to say the EAA Witness Hunter trigger is 'very good', at least by my standards. I'm just not a weirdly fussy person and I've fire Les Baer and Wilson Combat customs and would have no preference between any of them. For the kind of shooting I do and am interested in, trigger feel is about #28 on the list of things that have any impact on shooting. Getting the gun out of the holster would rate far higher, getting a magazine to drop free would rate far higher, and ability to recover to target would rate far higher. The Hunter isn't an action shooting pistol though, so maybe I'd like a little more cosmetics.
It's the lateral play in the trigger that drives me nuts, and near as I can tell that has little or no impact on my confidence when actually shooting the gun. More of a problem when admiring it on the sofa.
I got the Para Elite Hunter LS a month ago only have shot reloads through it , but after I worked up a good load it is very accurate and after 400 rounds it has been flaw less. the fit and finish is good and its fairly tight the trigger on mine is very good, over all I am very happy with it. I am not disappointed I got it.
midcoastmaine, Welcome to the forum! As a handloader you will find the pull down section very educational and useful...
Best regards!
I also have the elite hunter LS as well. I have found the gun to be very accurate. I actually was hitting a 20"x 20" target at 125 yards very frequently! Now that may not impress some but for me that was amazing feat. Very happy camper!

Best regards! what is the pull down section?
It's the place where members have pulled apart factory ammo and documented the components.
I have fondled one in a gun store a couple times. It looks well put together. Ramped barrel. It has the Series 80 firing pin safety. It is $1.2K and I have another pistol on layawake right now so not sure I can swing it at the moment. I was thinking of 100 yards with iron sights so good to hear that sounds possible. I sure the pistol will do it, but its whether I can shooting the pistol.
