Was at a gunshow over the weekend and among other things I picked up this box of 10mm. I've used the company in 40sw in my Beretta before with mixed results but I've concluded that that was the gun so I'm hoping this stuff performs well. It's loaded in new Starline Brass with 180g XTP's. Made in West by god Virginia, the company doesn't have a website, but some of you fellow east coasters may have seen it at gun shows. They measure 1.250 OAL and the guy that was selling them had a sheet from the manufacturer said 1175FPS. I may pull one apart and weigh the charge. Just figured I'd share and see if anyone else has seen/used the company. At 35$/50rounds its about the same price as Underwood, just a little lower power.

They appear to show quality assembly and components from the outside...I'll be looking to see what you find inside, so post some pictures for us to see. :D
One of the forum members here, ROME was going to start his own ammo company, he was located in Hampton VA. Could those be some he loaded? I see him logged in once in awhile but he hasn't responded to my e-mails or PM's...he was the one who brought the pulled Speer 200 gr Gold Dots to our attention as sold by RMR. He is a generous fellow and sent me stuff to check out and test, I hope things are good with him.
ROME sounds like a stand up guy, that is a shame he's been spotty keeping contact.
Here is the info I found in a format you are familiar with . . . hope you don't mind me copy/pasting. The only measurements that were borrowed from you where the hp depth/dia/mouth line, I figure an xtp cavity is an xtp cavity. I don't know the formula to get the energy using bullet weight and velocity, feel free to help me out! Also, the crimp measurement is correct, the bullet was in there nice and tight, I thought I was going to break my puller getting it out. Lastly, I've attached pic of the powder, it's really really fine, I can email a full size pic for zooming purposes. The guy selling them at the show said he'd thought it was a Winchester powder.

Those are some weak ones. #9?
Possibly. I'm new to the reloading and not familiar with too many powders like Shadow is but looking at Accurates' online manual for #9 it lists 12.2g @ 1093fps for a start charge and 13.5g @ 1242fps with a 180g XTP in 10mm. If the advertised 1175fps is correct, it would seem the 11.8g charge would be too light to get it there with AA#9. However, I don't have a chronograph so I won't be able to know for sure how fast they're moving, maybe one of you guys would care to test them.
Also, punched the numbers in an energy calculator and it says, 551.69ft/lbs, that sound about right?
That appears to be the "microbead" older version of AA#9 and it measured at a lower level than that shown in the manuals.
Accurate No. 9
180 HDY XTP 12.2 gr. @ 1,093 fps
180 HDY XTP 13.5 gr. @ 1,242 fps 34,100 psi 1.250"
My older AA data shows this for the 200 gr XTP
Accurate No. 9
200 gr XTP 11.3 gr. @ 1030 fps
200 gr XTP 12.5 gr. @ 1170 fps 37,000 psi

Does these pictures show what you have in the pull-down? ???
Nothing I show in Winchester data shows that amount of powder...
My 10MM with 6" barrel averaged 1093 fps with 12.0gr of AA9 and a 180 gr XTP . I doubt that load will get to 1100 fps in a 5" gun.
Sean
David tested them in his Glock and got 1053 FPS average. Given the low results I never opted to get any for my own testing.

Shadow, I think you're right, the microbead aa#9 looks to be dead on. The powder looked like really really small shot. I emailed you a bigger picture so you can get a better look. I'm waiting on the dealer I bought them from to write me back, see if he's found out any more info for us.
Got the info, looks like a good match for the AA#9... 8)
