So I FINALLY picked up a Glock 20 gen 3 (standard, non SF), at least from what I can tell. Anyway I've fallen completely in love with this gun. Bought it used stock from a reputable guy (seems like one at least everyone at 2 LGS' know him well enough to let him behind the counter but anyway. It (was all) stock. I put abrasive Talon grips on and a 20# Captive RSA. haven't fired it but figured it would be a good idea since I ordered 100 rds of Underwood. This is my first glock and first 10mm. Seller said to call him before anyone else if I ever decided to sell it. Some holster wear but other than that looks pristine. Should I keep it stock and fire some big name 10mm lite rds first? Or keep my new RSA in and shoot the Underwood's? Or shoot them stock? Also is there any different cleaning and lubing protocol with a glock? Anyway I love it without ever shooting it and I'll pic dump. Thanks all.
Disregard the pics I'm sorry. They're all too large. I'll resize when I have time.

Congrats on the 10mm, I never did anything to the one I had and I fired plenty of underwood. Personally I wouldn't do the rough grips I use smooth in one 10mm and checkered on the other. I have a set of CZ G10'S I can't stand.
Congratulations on your first 10mm, looking forward to the range report.
Congrats on the Glock 20 hope it serves you well and welcome to the 10mm Firearms forum!
Best regards! :D
Congrats! Glock 20 was my first 10 mm too
Congrats. Got same one and run it stock and for heavy stuff I use the Wolff steel guide rod and 22lb spring.
Thanks all, I will give a range report hopefully as soon as Sunday if I can get time to get out there on Saturday. I think I'm probably going to put the stock guide rod and spring back in and buy a box of Winchester Silver Tips or something like that just to be sure it runs smoothly. Then maybe a round or two of Underwood before putting in the stainless guide rod and 20# spring (I ordered a 22# but they sent me 20#, I figure maybe it's better if I can shoot both the FBI lite and Underwood without changing springs). As for the grips I figured I'd give em a try since I love the rubber ones from Talon on my XDs .45. If it's too abrasive I'll sand em down with some 120 grit sandpaper (what Talon says to do) or just take them off and get the rubber ones or just keep it stock. Either way, I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again for the welcome!

It should run just fine with the Silvertips and stock as they are fairly warm but not super hot rounds.... then again, later you may like the 20# spring better. I've tested one I borrowed and found it worked well with plinking ammo and some hot Underwoods. Only diff between the 17 and 20# spring was a bit less snap with the hot loads and cases flying not as far. ( which is actually better with target rounds cause I don't have to go 15ft for them to pick up ) :)
Welcome to the group...great info here. I have the G-20 in the sf....Enjoy those UW 135's :o
Welcome aboard, you'll find that there is a wealth of info here concerning the 10mm, my personal "go to" caliber.
I'm a new 10mm shooter too. Bought a new G20,gen3,,last week. So far, so good. Love it. Shot a box of Lite 10mm loads and I had a chance to shoot a few more powerful loads and a couple of nukes. A blast to shoot for sure.
I'm ordering a couple hundred rounds of Underwood Delta Elite loads this week. I think they will be a very good load to do a proper break in. Later I hope to buy some Hornady XTP loads to test as well. I'm hoping the Delta Elite rounds do well because I would love to use those as a round for self defense .
Reloading will start once I get enough brass and scrounge up money for converting to 10mm. ;)
I just got my first Glock a mod 20. I bought a 51/2 inch barrel and a 22 lb. spring. When I ordered my barrel I asked if I should use a buffer and they said not to. Just looking for opinions and also I noticed that there are no high cap. mags for the 10mm.
Will the high cap. mag for the 40 work. Am a new member here and looking to get educated on the glock 20. plan on using the 180 200 grain underwood and Buffalo Bore ammo.
jslj11244, Welcome to the forum! Is your G-20 the 4th Generation? No the 40S&W magazine will not accept the longer 10mm ammo. sorry!
They make two magazine for the G-20 10 round +1 and and 15 round +1 if you want more and your state allows they have extensions to allow even more rounds. and the Kriss extensions for the 45 are said to work for the 10mm...
its a gen 3 thanks for the info
