Have a Colt DE 2010 model. Reload for 9 and 40. Now for 10mm. Bought some Precision Bullets RNF 185 gr Hard Swage Coated. Been using Unique, with the powder shortage here, I may as well keep using. Been looking for a load. Have a couple books but nothing right on. Mostly just put holes in paper. Bought a Chrony, now going to start working the load. Thought I might start at 6.2 gr and work my way up. Any one have any experience with this type bullet and powder. I'll also be loading for my 40 Kahr P40. Thanks for any help.
My Alliant 2006 data shows the following; 10mm loads
180 JHP using 7.0 grains Unique @ 1,125 fps showing 35,700 psi
190 JSP using 6.7 grains Unique @ 1,025 fps showing 35,500 psi
Bullet fit is very important, seating and crimping in separate steps make for the best loading, and finish.
I use that exact same bullet. I have 5.8-7.1 grains of Unique as the charge weight.
But I recently scored 5 pounds of Blue Dot and have been using that lately.
