Title: 10mm practice bullets
Post by: n2horns on March 24 2014 11:33:52 PM MDT
I am looking for a good practice bullet to load and use thru g20 with KKM barrel 4.6 for the 165 grain.

I currently use Montana Gold (jhp) and am interested in something different to try.  I have see the zero, xtreme, noslers etc..  Practice ammo can be FMJ/TMJ or JHP based on cost etc...

Any suggestions that would work on plinking/practice?  Also would help if buying in larger lots like 500 to 1000 at a time or greater would help save money too.

Thanks.

I use mainly xtreme bullets for my practice ammo. For 40 and 10 I use their 165 and 180 fn and hp plated rounds. There tend to be the cheapest unless you go hard cast.

Rocky Mountain Reloading has some nice plated bullets for sale...http://www.shop.rmrbullets.com/ (http://www.shop.rmrbullets.com/)
You may want to give them a try...I am not affiliated with they in any way, shape or form.

Do the plated bullets stand up to true 10mm velocities, ie 180gr 1200-1300fps etc?

I'm really happy with the Xtreme 180 gr. HP in my G20 and 29. Shot some yesterday at a plate rack and it knocks 'em down like a sledge hammer. I load mine less than 1000 fps and get good accuracy.

Prob the cheapest will be lead, but  I like plated and like the extremes as plating is heavier.

And Yes, buying in larger amounts usu is cheaper...but buy a small amount to test before going for 1k
