Ok so this may have been posted but i tried searching and couldnt find anything. I have the stainless target II and im kinda wanting a get a set of sights with dots. Dont have to be night sights but it would be kool.
My question is do i have to get target sights or can i get just any pair of fixed sights?
Thanks!
Tyler
The fixed sights are great for defensive work, faster target acquisition, some target adjustable sights have a finer picture for more accurate precision.
Sights are more of a personal preference based on your needs and what's available for the application.
Just a crazy Cajun's opinion! Best regards! 8)
So they are all interchangable? This is my first 1911 and im not gonna get crazy with it, jus rather the 3 dots!
Thanks!
No, they are not interchangeable, Kimber uses its own cut for sights so you have to be careful to be sure sights you buy will fit a Kimber cut. You might want to look at Dawson Precision. They make replacement sights for both fixed and adjustable Kimber sights that are fiber optic. I've installed their FO front sights on both my Team Match and my Stainless Target II 10mm.
I know they are make specific, i was asking if the fixed type sights and the adj type sights were interchangable.
That's another no. The slides are cut differently. The fixed sight has a single plane back from the dovetail and the adjustable has two planes one lower than the other--I just looked at a fixed on a pro carry and adjustable on the target II.
Ok. Thanks for checkin!
So looks like im in the market for a set of adjustable night sights!
I think Heinie sights has a set for the Kimber cut.
