Is this Ron Reed in OKC ?
Yup. Reed's A&R.
All the Reed's ammos are loaded in new Winchester brass

Walmart? Wonder how long ago that was! My seller was supposed to send 39 of these. I have 4!

My seller sent these Federals by accident mixed in. Is it Hardcast or standard lead? He sent 20 of these.

I also have 14 old looking Winchester Silvertips in the Federal box. That's 38 leaving me one short.

I'm debating what to do on the Federal mixed box. I can't get much data with just 4 rounds of the JHP's. With one going to The Shadow for pull-down I could do one pistol length. Possibly get that one back and send two for Raggedyman's gel testing ???
I would like to see what the Reed's Silvertip does in gel in comparison to the older Silvertip.
Also, I would like to see the Reed's 165 grain Golden Sabre.
The 175gr rated velocity is close to what the original I picked up recently produced. Can you still get GS bullets as components? My seller told me it was a mistake on the Federal box contents. Looks like I'm keeping the stuff that is there and getting a refund. I'm trying to figure out what the lead looking rounds are.
I am no expert but they look like plain old lead to me.
Did you just get 4 rounds of the Hi Shok in the box? I thought you were getting like 4 boxes of it.
On second thought, are the case heads on the lead stamped Federal (something like FC).
The reason I ask is that Natchez shooters supplies used to advertise a high antimony lead Federal 180 grain round. It could be those.
I only wanted a partial and he said this was a 39 round box of them. Instead of that I have this mix :-\
It looks like we may have worked something out to get a couple of Black Talons in place of the Federals.
- Reed's 165gr Golden Saber JHP Rated 1350 FPS

- Reed's 180gr Golden Saber JHP Rated 1250 FPS

I really wanted the Reed's to be as strong as the numbers in the sheet. Sadly though the Old Winchester rounds I put with these were a different animal in every way!

EAA Limited Pro 4.75" 1261, 1271, 1255. Average = 1262.33 FPS/ 619 LBS
Similar Silvertip with the 13.0gr's of powder gave 1269 FPS the last time out of the same Pro.
The unknown Federal lead 180gr:
EAA Limited Pro 4.75" 1029, 1038, 1036. Average = 1034.33 FPS/ 428 LBS
Was it one of these Unknowns that squibed on you? ???
Underwood 150gr Sierra squibed.
I see Double Tap is still having quality control issues.
What kind of issues?

Quality control. They claim a certain velocity but their rounds have a substantial lower velocity than advertised.
Naa. That's just false advertising :o
I haven't gotten a bad round from them, PBR or Buffalo Bore so far.

I was being nice. It's one thing to be 15-30 fps off. It's another to be over a hundred.
They are at least changing the rated barrel length to longer and longer. Pretty soon all flaps will read 7" Javelina ???

Ha! :))
That was kind of funny when you think about it ;D
With the Hunter guide rod fixed and squib removed I tested these today.
