Title: Reloading Prvi Partazan brass.
Post by: joshuamalezi on February 18 2014 09:32:57 PM MST
I have not started to reload 10mm yet, but I purchased a couple boxes of Prvi Partazan 180 jhp. I've read mixed reviews about this ammo. I bought it because it's cheap and mainly for the brass. Some folks say the brass is fine for loading, but I'm seeing a lot of people saying it's terrible for various reasons. Does anyone have any experience with this brass? Any thoughts to its quality or limitations?

Not really enough experience to talk about.  I've loaded about a half box of it maybe twice without problems, if that helps.

I wouldn't.  Cost me $150 for a new G20 frame.

They were warm loads, but nothing overpressure.  Pistol didn't malfunction.  Its a case head seperation because of poor brass.  Here's the rest of the bunch run with the same load.

If you want brass, buy brass.  Its available soon, and Starline is decent stuff.

Georgia Arms canned heat is on par price wise with the Prvi Partizan 180 grain load.  Maybe a few dollars more, but really close.  And it is good starline brass.

I would take that PRVI stuff to the local scrap yard.

Wow, Geeman! That's crazy. I am convinced not to load the ppu brass. Thanks for the heads up. Midway has Starline nickel plated in stock. I guess i shall have to get some. My local shop has some American Eagle ammo. Any thoughts on the loadability of that brass? Is loadability even a word? Spell check doesn't think so.

If you are wanting to buy right now, then I think the phrase is "beggars can't be choosers" :P

I'm sure the PP has been good for a lot of people and hasn't had any problems. But, I've read about  from other sources besides here, folks having issues with this brass. I know you can't believe everything on the internet, but I see more negative comments than positive about the PP. If I'm running these rounds through a $1200 pistol, I would rather be safe than sorry.
