Title: Heavy Crimping with 800x?
Post by: Condor1970 on February 15 2014 04:29:34 PM MST
Well, I got my nice big jug of 800X, and found some interesting load data in the Hornady manual that includes loading with 800X down to 6.7gr.

So, I loaded up 50rds of X-Treme 180gr heavy plated HP's @ 7.0gr and a heavy crimp using a Lee FCD. I assume using the heavy crimp will give be better initial pressure with a more complete burn and slightly less smoke. Just wondering what I should expect from such a low load in 800x. Any experience from you guys doing this?

Condor1970, what cartridge are you loading as referred to in this post?  I'm at a lost if it is 357?, 45ACP? or 10mm?  :-\
