Title: Georgia Arms 180gr FMJ
Post by: Intercooler on February 05 2014 04:44:59 AM MST
They didn't have any of the other 10's in stock so I grabbed a couple of these. It's been a long time coming just to see this show up  :o If they hit the 1100 FPS rating they will be a better option than LAX reloads. I think they use new brass for this, but we will see!

Yes, GA Arms uses all new components. I've been using their stuff for more than 20 years for practice in a variety of calibers. Never had an issue. Great stuff.

I ordered 500 rounds of "canned heat" yesterday. Yes, they informed me that it is new brass. Very nice price especially considering they ship it in military ammo cans.

My order was delivered on Saturday, which was a surprise. The quality looks very good. Nice new Starline brass. Tried a few magazines on Sunday. Very accurate. Recoil was similar to Armscor & Hornady Critical Duty. So, I'm guessing not too much slower than either of those, but that is a guess. So far I like it a lot.

Finally got a chance to run some of the Georgia Arms 180 gr. fmj's through my Stock 1 today. Before I went out I put in my new XL firing pin and a 20 lb. Wolff recoil spring. The Stock ran smooth and flawless with this setup. Accuracy was very good,  so I plan on buying more form Georgia Arms.

Intercooler...did you ever get your order and did you have a chance to chrono it?

I'm curious to see how it chrono's. I've shot their 357sig through my 32 a lot. I chrono'd one order with a friend of mine's machine and the average velocity was real close to what they published. I was just wondering about the 10mm 180 fmj, if they were close too.

Thx!

I carry there 180gr HP at 1100fps 10mm in my G29sf with a 4.6" 2port barrel for my EDC. Its just right and has never FTF or FTE  or jammed, flawless in my gun. They at onetime had 180gr HP +P at 1150fts, I had some of that , but have never seen it since????
But with Shadows help on his download of there rounds and I found a someone who will sell me 180gr hard cast HP's nonlubed, I can duplicate that round  with my own powder coated rounds.

Is your barrel a lone wolf? How do you like it?

I have learned, and maybe you know this too, but when they show unavailable online, call them. My last several orders where out online; I called, got my ammo within 2 weeks even after the lady said it may take 30-45 days.  ;)

Yes - The barrel is a Lone Wolf - I love it -I have had no problems with it at all. Other than the barrel and 15rd G20 mags that I use instead of the 10rd mags everything is stock.

And this is my EDC in a shoulder holster, concealed.

No doubting the quality products but these folks practice the old adage about "under promise and over deliver" like nobody else.  Until very recently they had a notice on homepage to expect 2-4 weeks after order for shipping on "in stock" ammo.  The reality on my orders was never more than 3 days between order and shipment.
