This seems like a neat idea. I wonder if a press could be adapted to do the same thing with a single pull of the handle?
Having the proper seal is key to making that work, I tried it on some Speer/CCI aluminum cases but used a wooden dowel that I shaped to fit the interior. Then you have to find the berdan primers to fit! For some cases it just isn't worth the effort. ???
Someone mentioned in the comments you can drill something out and use boxer primers.
I could only justify this if it were some really hard to find Military Brass
The drilling out the pin post is doable but a drill press and jig to keep it centered and steady is needed. By the time you waste the time and energy, it make cost effective for new brass. ::)

I mean you still have two weak points where the two flash holes were. The problem was problematical as there weren't any Berdan primer sources in the US. Now TulAmmo has them. Beware if you go this route though. Large rifle primers come in TWO sizes. The ones in a 7.62X39 are different size than the ones for 7.62X54R or 8mm Mauser.
