VLTOR placed this on FaceBook a little while ago
QuoteOur team at VLTOR has set some internal goals for 2014. One of those goals has been to increase our exposure through social media to allow for better communication with our customers. Every 1,000 likes on Facebook is celebrated at our facility and we want to share that celebration with you. For every 1,000 likes we receive on Facebook, we will be giving something away to a randomly selected person who has liked the page. Each giveaway may be different and the only requirement is that the winner must be eligible and legally able to receive the prize. Since we hit 14,000 likes this weekend we will pick a winner today and announce the person soon.
Thanks for liking our page and being a valued customer/fan!
So I had to push on them a little...

QuoteVLTOR, you want to make some people happy in 2014? Make the Bren Ten 10mm guns. Nobody else makes the Bren Tens, everyone is making the AR stuff! That would make a lot of 10mm enthusiast very happy. Many are still holding out with dreams of VLTOR making good on the Bren Ten Project since 2008.

QuoteGlad to know that you all are at least listening...all the while we are wishing for a long time. The current government doesn't make things easy on any of us, but would like to get one before we loose that freedom! Hey if you need a serious tester of the product hook me up! Thanks for the reply!
Maybe that is some good news
Those of you with FaceBook accounts should look up VLTOR and plug them with responses and hammer them to produce product for us 10mm guys! 8)

John Rhoda Any chance of a VLTOR BREN TEN this year?
I have a VLTOR receiver/STEYR AUG A3 & LOVE it!
A new/improved BREN TEN SM (VICED) is definitely on my bucket list. Please make it so... !

Vltor Hi John. The Bren is still in pre-production. While there has been significant delays, we are still working on the project. We are hoping to have some updates to share here very soon about the progress.

Yes, John Rhoda also post on the Bren Ten Vltor Fortis Pistol page on Facebook...yes there are a few that have followed this for a long time. Some there were let down, (including myself) that the original deal where we prepaid orders that fell through.

Call me crazy but what is the draw to this piece that has been years without any traction?
Something different but very close to an EAA, based off the Original 10mm guns! If they use quality metals and processes it could be well worth the wait...we need another 10mm gun maker. But then again we have only had "VAPORWARE" made with UNOBTANIUM LOL
I think I would rather just get the EAA or a CZ if they ever release it.
It's not as snazzy either. Plus won't the original owners be a little pissed?
Cool factor for some I guess. Unlike Tanfo Extremes that are competition/ target guns that can be utilized as carry, this Bren was for carry. My guess Tanfoglio always knew their CZ Clone 10mm would capture the closet thing to it in the states.

The patents either have or will be running out for the original BT.
QuotePatents expire 20 years from the date they are filed so any invention that is over 20 years old probably is free for you to copy without violating a patent.

At least, they finally put something out. I don't think it would have been so frustrating if they'd have taken five minutes a week to keep us informed.
What's the projected cost and what capacity?
Given all steel construction I suspect it will be in the 1000-1200 range. Capacity should be on par with the original which I think was 10but they should be able to squeeze at least a couple more in there.
Originally they said the intended to keep it under $1,000 as I recall. And use Witness mags. Where those too stand I don't know.
Let me preface the remainder of my comments with the following: I like many VLTOR products. I also really hope they bring the Bren Ten to market. I would certainly buy one, even if it meant selling a kidney.
That said, this most recent release is weak sauce. Regardless of financial situation, internal turmoil, production interruptions, etc. the certainly could have communicated clearly the issues they have, and produced a revised timeline, even if it was "indeterminate at this time". Further, while they may or may not have authorized Spirit Guns to begin taking pre-orders, they were in an agreement with them to distribute, and VLTOR did not comment on the pre-orders. Silence is consent and therefore they did consent. Or, they are woefully out of touch with the 10mm community.
I hope they do turn over a new leaf. I would love for them to produce a sanitized version of their production plan with the weekly (or at least monthly) milestones that need to occur to hit a target date in "late 2014".
But, as someone who works full time in product R&D, I can say they have no idea when they will actually release a product. If they wanna make me eat those words, lets see the project plan with dates, and lets see it updated for at least the next 100 days with actual progress towards a release. At that point, I will gladly dine on some crow.
sqlbullet, I concur...my & other people as well, posting on VLTOR's facebook page, did what I wanted it to do!
It sparked a reaction, Facebook is viewed by many viewers, and the shot but flamboyant post pinned with an attached picture was not going unnoticed.
This led them to either make an announcement of some sort or ignore it...BTW they even opened their Weblog info site! Therefore it started a reaction and only time will tell if they will act on and actually produce products or have egg on their face.
I am still in the hunt of procurement should they produce them at reasonable pricing. We all know RIA is producing quality 1911 pistols around $600. If VLTOR holds to their original price points that would be even better! I still have a copy of the pricing info that was shown in my files of all the pictures they posted about the VLTOR/FORTIS related Bren Tens.
They don't call me The SHADOW for nothing!
Those who are following the VLTOR Bren Ten attempt at production, they have combined their news pages.
