Title: Good price on Gen3 G20
Post by: BT8850 on December 30 2013 06:45:06 PM MST
What would you all think would be a fair price on a used gen3 Glock 20? Would be Buying from a family member who bought it new 2003 or so and special ordered it with factory adjustable sights. It's got all the original paperwork, safe kept in factory Glock case, 2 10round factory mags, less than 150 rounds fired (CCI Blazer and UMC so nothing real hot), all stock. If I don't buy it, he's planning on trading it in sometime soon on a RIA 10mm. Not sure what he'd get for trade in but I can probably do better. Thoughts?

He probably won't get more than $325 on a trade-in at a shop.

It is worth what someone is willing to pay, that said $400 to $500, seeing only 2 10 round mags and if they are not the high capacity. ???

Rich10 that's what I was thinking, I don't want to see him get ripped off. He's had the gun a long time and loves how awesome the 10mm is. Shadow, I'd agree with you, I was thinking of offering 450, I'm comfortable with that given the great condition and that I know for a fact I'll be the second owner. Idk what he paid for it new but he knows more about/has more guns than I will ever and I don't want to insult him, he basically just said pick a number. The mags are somewhat disappointing, I guess that's what happens when you buy a handgun during the ban.

However the guy, my uncle, has a Glock 19 that he's been using the Korean knock off mags for with great success, no complaints. Shadow I know you're a Glock fan, have you used these mags with 10mm? That would leave me a fairly nice and affordable option for acquiring higher cap mags for said G20.

I have a 10 round G-20 mag, it does work in the G-20 and G-29!

Good to hear! Makes me feel better that there are good alternatives to the pricey factory mags  :D I'll update everyone with a picture if/when I bring it home

$400 would be a fair price for a used G20 in good condition. I could see you paying $450 if you don't want to insult him, but he really shouldn't expect much more than 4. It's a Glock after all....great combat weapon at a great price.

Agreed. I think he knows he'd be screwed trading it in and He's a reasonable fellow so we'll see what he says. Im already getting giddy thinking about the barrel options for it! Hopefully next few weeks it'll be mine, I'll let you guys know how it pans out.

Seems like $400 or $425 would be a fair deal for both of you.  He probably didn't pay much more than that 10 years ago.

Met up with my uncle over the weekend and I'm near positive he's ready to sell it, I've now got it home with me? Pretty much just have to exchange cash and do the transfer. It's nothing other than an ordinary Gen 3 Glock 20 and if you've seen one you've seen them all but i'm going to show it off anyway  :P I also agreed to buy every 10mm round he has for it, if there's anything unique in his collection I'm sure shadow will get a pull down  8)

Thank ya thank ya, I'm looking forward to signing the papers and making it official. I believe the first thing I'm going to do is get a new recoil spring assembly as that seems to be the weakest link for stout 10mm. Any suggestions on brand? I've used a wolf recoil spring and mag springs in my Beretta and an ISMI spring and steel guide rod in my G22 with good results. 22 or 24lb seems to be the way to go for the G20.

I have had success with the 22 pound captured RSA from Glockstore.
