Time for a new 1911.
Have it pretty much narrowed down to two and welcome all input. Both guns will be purchased new in box. My uses will be (in order) range/target, home defense, used to impress clients who shoot too (range use again).
Deciding between a Colt Gold Cup and a Springfield TRP. New, the trigger seems a slight touch better on the Gold Cup but the Springfield is classic and I know worn in Springfield triggers are terrific also. Like the looks of the Gold Cup just a tad better but more aftermarket (sights) available for the Springfield.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Pat
Get the Colt.
My Delta Gold Cup is my most prized Pistol
Here it is, along with its Colt, Series 80 9mm and 22lr Conversions:

I can't comment on the Gold Cup. I have a TRP that's been well-used. I used it at SWAT practice for a while and put tons of rounds through it. It's been absolutely perfect.
