Title: Need a 40S&W barrel reamed to 10mm
Post by: yankee2500 on December 08 2013 11:03:18 AM MST
I'm looking for a smith or machinist to ream or lathe a Mauser M2 40S&W barrel to 10mm, this is what lead me to this sight.
From my research the M2 barrel is two pieces and the chamber is Vanadium Steel and will destroy standard reamers so a Titanium coated one or the use of a lathe is needed to re-chamber it to 10mm.
If anyone knows where I can get this done I would greatly appreciate the information.

Well I don't know if this nice fellow can help out, but he provided reaming service for me on my 9x25Dillon project.  His rate was very reasonable, his work was perfect on my final reaming of a Bar-Sto Barrel.

Shadow, thank you very much for the lead. I called and spoke with Mr. Van Schneider and he is going to do the work for me, seemed like a very nice person  and the price was reasonable.

Thanks again
John

Glad to hear Mr. Van will help you as well.  Yes he is a very nice fellow and competent gunsmith!
Without his work, I would not have finished my 9x25Dillon  Bar-Sto chamber for my S&W 1006 project.

Please tell him I sent you to him! 8)

But can the rest of the gun handle the greater power of the 10mm????
