There is a lot of cringing that takes place on the internet when it comes to EAA and 10mm. I have been thinking for a while that my next 10 will be a Stock I or II. I am looking for a bit of reassurance from Witness owners that these firearms are plenty durable for the mighty 10. I roll my own to velocities a little less than Underwoods, but the only factory ammo I buy is Underwoods and I shoot plenty of that a too.

Intercooler is your man, read over some of his previous post until he gets in here to answer your question I detail.
StockIIBoss has one and fires Underwoods Ammo.
The Witness pistols received a period of grief from having possibly too brittle of a slide in the Wonderfinish version (hardness wasn't right) coupled with a rounded slide. It appears the rounded slide is no more and no issues I have read about lately with that finish. It seems even the standard Witness is doing just fine now since the changes.
If you get from the Match on up they are golden. I have logged a ton of high end rounds through mine and only had sight problems. The problem sight is the LPA low-profile and part of why all four of mine are Super Sight equipped now. You get the Super Sight and a couple of added features with the SII versus the SI. Should you want a rail the Match is your piece and I put a ton of Nukes through mine!
Whichever one you choose, slap a Henning Cone guide-rod and flat bottom block it with supporting Wolff spring (20-22lb). Hope to see you get one!
The StockII I own has never, ever, had any problems of any type, and I've run my share of Underwood offerings through it, as well as 'lesser' loads. I'm also a habitual 'tinkerer' and have my Stock II trigger as good as a DA/SA can get. I've designed the disconnector in CAD and have had a couple made, and the results are phenomenal. You can get the same results by getting the Cajun Gun Works disconnector, and there's also one made by CZ Custom. The Elite series Tanfoglio, as far as I know, have had zero reliability issues, but, of course, you pay the price for that, as they are super high quality guns. My Stock II arrived fully polished, which I've never seen before. It's an early model with a serial in the low twenties, so can't tell you if the later issues are as well prepped as mine was. I can also say, having owned a full size Witness Steel in 10mm, that aside from the fine machining, finish, and some options, it's also very reliable in 10mm.
The only 10mm problems I've heard of are the compact models, whether poly or steel, with the rounded slides. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. The steel compact 10mm is not available now as far as I can tell. Maybe they're working on it? I hope so, since I'd really like to have a reliable 10mm da/sa compact.
If they (Tanfoglio)) made a compact 100% in 10mm, I would be the first to revisit it. Bar none for me a very accurate pistol out of box. Till then, I am looking at the CZ P-06 with decocker that is contoured the same as the witness compact and it works.
If you get one post some pictures ;D I wish it were next year with me moved and a model there I want (envy you). With any hope we will see the Xtreme pieces here next year and a Gold Team Match might be on my radar!
I have two witness guns. The Stock will stand up fine to any spec 10mm load you throw at it.
If you add in a Hennings Cone-trol guide rod and a flat bottom firing pin stop, it will handle about anything that doesn't blow the barrel.
Thanks for all the great input. Hopefully next spring I will be able to locate one.
