Title: Removing Copper The Easy Way!
Post by: StockIIBoss on November 26 2013 08:21:00 PM MST

I tried a new method to clean copper out of a barrel without running a ton of patches through it. I'm using KG12, which I thought was pretty slow to work, but it turns out it's awesome when given time to work!

Here's a Stock II 10mm polygonal barrel, lightly stuffed with shredded cotton balls using a cleaning rod to pack it.

The end of the barrel should be placed on a cotton patch or something that will reveal the liquid has reached the bottom. Then just start adding drops until it's saturated.

And now we wait. In this case 1.5 hours or so. I was just guessing on how long, but that was plenty of time. Might even work much quicker than that. Oh man, I just noticed I placed the wrong bottle for the pic! LOL

I pushed out the cotton, which had taken the form of mini tampons streaked with copper. Look how clean it is! No follow-up bore polish either. I was impressed!

Looks nice and easy...

Maybe easier than the copper scrubbies and No 9

Ehh, I just use the Outer's Foul Out system. Fill it with solution, plug in the electrodes, and the copper moves from the barrel to the steel rod. Nothing easier.

Is Foul Out discontinued? Says so on the Midway site, but maybe that just means by them.

I believe Gunslick bought them out. Found it here.

Looks really clean to me! I couldn't get that good of pictures when I was trying to capture what the Polygonal rifling looked like.

I got lucky. Flashlight and barrel in one hand, camera in the other. Here's a few more pics from another barrel.
