Post by: Ramjet on November 19 2013 09:23:41 PM MST
Anyone load any of the Montana gold 165 grain over Longshot? Can you share the load data please?

A search of "longshot 165" in the reloading and pull-down forums gave a couple of relevant results:

Thank you I will look them over but finally got the Mihec 200 grain FP to shoot well from my LW Longalide. Believe it or not reducing the load to 7.5 grains yielded 1240 FPS and great accuracy.

So the 1000 rnds of Montana Gold 165 grains bullets will be put on the sales block.

I believe it.  Powders do funny things in how they burn under pressure.  I would have to track down my logs, but I remember Blue Dot having some velocity valleys once I got off book.

Yes affirmation is the target and chronograph.

Plenty of power for the 10mm I very happy seeing have about 800 lbs of lead half Lino half plumber lead.

I have been running the following load for a while:

10.0 gr. Longshot
165 gr. BBI (moly coated bullet)
CCI-300 (non magnum)
1.255" COAL
Starline Brass

This is my practice load that mimics my other "full power" loads.  Gives me an honest 1300+ FPS out of the 4.6" OEM Glock barrel, around 1400+ FPS out of the 6" barrel.

Since your components are different, the usual warning applies.  Reduce then work up.
