Title: Went to range w/ my new Witness match 10 mm
Post by: jiminthe burg on September 25 2013 06:28:40 PM MDT
Able to get to the range today.  The Match is very tight as I had to tap the slide stop very gently to loosen it so i could field strip it to clean the oil off.

It is my understanding that the Match only has a 14 lb r/s ( recoil spring ) I can believe it as was ejecting the brass 20-25 '

Gun is accurate and the trigger pull is < 4lbs. I followed Intercoolers suggestion re mag w/ black followers and K 10 on the side and boy is the mag spring spring strong. Could not get more than 13 rounds but that's ok with me.

All in all, a good time. Got to reload some more 10 mm so I can break this bad boy in. 170 rounds so far and absolutely no problems with firing and ejecting. Think a stronger r/ s  will keep the brass in the same zip code.

Ordered some aftermarket items from Henning.  Does the firing pin block come out similar to that one on a 1911 and is there only one way to put it in? Hopefully, there will be some instructions with the block but thought i would ask in case there are not.

Now got 4 10 mm-Need some more!!

No instructions with the block and good to see it's running good! The block only goes in one way and the front face is beveled, not rounded. Henning did this so you can take some material off should you experience light strikes.

Springs won't help with the brass tossing. Stay tuned because my new Limited ejector was hitting the brass a little hard making contact dents. I'm cutting the ejector down on it and will post up the results with pics as I go along. I already took 1/8" off and will try it next time out to see. If you plan on running some extreme stuff in you may want to look into the Sprinco or DPM setup.
