Crazy looking crimpage :o
I am a little confused. Didn't you clock this at 1100 something?
1153 to be exact. The box flap rating is 1060 at the muzzle which doesn't line up with the results.
If I can get to the range tomorrow I might try them out just to get a feel for them.
I guess Hornady won't be selling these in a component either huh?
He ran the test and got 1089 out of his G20.
Wonder if anyone makes a setup to crimp the bottom of the bullet like that? That would really deter jacket separation no matter what it is.

Probably not, though I would like to see them loaded up.

That's pretty weak for a 10mm. Ah well..
It is possible that they could be crimped in the lower groove (cannelure) for say something like the 38-40, but I think they are using the lower groove as a "LOCK" to hold the base together and stop over expansion. ???
I pulled a few of these and reloaded them. Kimber Target II- 5" bll. Powder used Longshot - 8.4gr , velocities ran 1282 ,1268, 1287, accuracy was good at 10 yards.
I will load a few more and shoot them into wetpack this weekend. Probably at 8.5gr just to get closer to 1300 fps.

Raggedyman has the MFG version now for gel. Should be interesting!
Excellent!
The 1050fps is an error on the box. It should be 1150 fps. Cableas has an updated velocity on their page in the Q&A section.
The Q&A section lists 1225 as the velocity with 550 ft/lbs of energy.
That would be nice!
(I think the expert confused it with Critical Defense in 165 grain)
I just found this under the Cabelas "product research" section (hit the product research tab):
http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Ammunition/Handgun-Ammunition%7C/pc/104792580/c/104691780/sc/104372280/Hornady174-Critical-Duty-Handgun-Ammunition/1315051.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fhandgun-ammunition%2F_%2FN-1100189%2B4294729282%2FNe-4294729282%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104372280%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMM%253Bcat104691780%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3BMM%3Bcat104691780%3Bcat104372280
They list the muzzle velocity as 1200 fps.
I can go back and change the original advertised velocity, but the picture of the ammo box Intercooler posted shows 1050 fps on the flap? ??? However the 50 yrd down range velocity is 2 fps more than the shown muzzle...I did think that was strange. ::)

I will update the sheet as well showing 1200 FPS.
