I just collected a little data on my goto range load. Thought I'd pass it along
Pistol: Glock 20SF gen 3
Temp. 80* f
Bullet: 165gr plated rnfp x-treme
Primer: Winchester WLP
Powder: WST
Load: 5.7gr.
OAL: 1.250
crimp: none
10 rounds through Chrony
Average - 998fps
High - 1010fps
Low - 981fps
Average Dev. - 5.8fps
Standard Dev. - 4.9fps
Energy - 365ft/lbs
They're nice soft shooters with very little smoke.
WST pressure can spike quickly so work up to hotter loads very slowly. Check your brass for telling signs after each load change.
For me the best part of using WST is that during this shortage crap WST was usually available.
I also found WST to be very enjoyable shooting in my 40 S&W and 45 ACP pistols.
Hope this is helpful for someone.
Ski2me, Welcome to the forum! :D
Those should be a good paper punching/practice/proficiency load.
Best regards!
Nice....well except for using the Glock part.... ;)
J/K...sorta....I just don't like them.
My favorite recipe is:
Precision Bullets 185 grain moly coated RNF
(http://www.precisionbullets.com/IMG/40-185rnf.jpeg)
5.2 grains HP-38
Primer Winchester Large Pistol
COL 1.260"
Crimp...Lee Factory Crimp Die
Don't have any chrony info for them....really need to get one, though.
And why I like them....
