When I acquired my first G29, it came in addition to the factory guide rod, a SS Rock Your Glock guide rod. It is a two piece guide rod, and the springs that are on it are what I believe to be as light, or lighter, than the factory 17 pound. I would like to go up in weight, something in the 20-22 pound range.
My question is will the Wolfe, 21 pound spring set, work with this guide rod?
AlwaysShootin, can you measure the inner diameter and length of the springs and or guide rod parts? ???
I can maybe do the same with my Wolff Gun Springs non captive two piece rod for comparison...
Inside diameter of large spring = 0.400"
Length of large spring = 2.267"
Length of large dia. recoil tube = 1.5435"
Outside Dia. of tube for spring to ride = 0.390"
Inside Dia. of tube = 0.2545"
Inside Dia. of small diameter long spring = 0.238"
Length of small dia. = 3.5940"
Outside Dia. = 0.3360"
Length of smaller recoil rod = 2.7825"
Diameter of rod for small spring to ride = 0.2270"
Thank you for the reply! For now I can't get to my calipers, for measurement. Comparing the factory guide rod, to the, rock your glock guide rod, they both look dimension wise identical. Had a problem with my G20 throwing hot loads brass so far away, made brass retrieval difficult. Having the same problem with my 29. Would prefer the brass landing in the 6 foot away range, versus the 15 ft+. I like the 22 pounder in my G20, works with soft target loads, as well as high powered hunting loads. Hoping to achieve the same results with the 29. I like to shoot a variety of loads through my 10's, and it seems that the hotter the load, they greater the brass loss occurs. :(
