I am looking to reload a good, reliably accurate load for my new (to me) G20 MechTech
Thinkin' on pushing it out past 100, 150 yards
What Bullet weight y'all think ?
Any input would be greatly appreciated
If you are looking for reliability of feeding, I would say go with a 180gr FMJ style for blasting away.
You may want to try 8.8 grains of LongShot, 10.4 grains of Blue Dot and a LP mag primer.
If you want an expanding bullet 180 JHP over the same load...
Then again if you are trying to push the limits higher you could copy the loads listed in the pull-down section, just be aware that many are high impulse and hand weighing for insurance of charge weights would help with safety!
I have tried all of the loads mentioned above. Started noticing pressure signs with longshot around 9.2 grains so work up slowly. 150 yards with that load has not been a problem for me.
Thanks guys
I reload my Handgun Rounds with AA5 and thought I'd see what I can do with 9.3grs behind a 165gr Xtreme in Winchester Brass Cases (I use Win Nickel in my 10mm Handguns)
I know there are better Powders and different Bullets for this, so I figured I'd ask and see what y'all were pushing through your MechTechs
I don't even have mine put together yet

Well, at that distance I would probably have to go with a 135 or 155 grain bullet as that should go the fastest and the flattest. My tired old eyes won't go that far and I like heavier loads. My favorite bullets are Precision Bullets moly coats. They don't make a 135 grain, but do make a 155 grain. My normal is their 185 grain bullets. They give me the greatest accuracy at the distance I shoot them at. Which is more like bad guy sneaking around in my bedroom distance. (21 feet)
