I'm surprised 800-X didn't to a little bit better. In those loads using the 200gr Gold Dot I'ld like to see how the velocity differences compare through a 6" barrel. Not the difference in velocity overall because of using a 6" barrel, but rather the velocity difference between the 2 loads themselves from a 6" barrel. In the 4.75" barrel I did expect Longshot to achieve a higher velocity, just not by as much as these results showed.
The Longshot results were also more consistent shot to shot. With a 6" barrel I wonder if 800-X would show more shot to shot uniformity.
BTW, those were sent to Intercooler for testing the JAG brass on their 3rd firing, I would be interested in getting expansion results and examination for any possible "smiles"...
These were reloaded in JAG brass on their 3rd firing, using the loads listed above and using Remington 2 1/2 primers COAL was 1.2500"
I may down load them to 9.2 grains of LongShot to keep them around 1250 fps. :D

Intercooler your results are near perfect! The penetration & expansion might beat the XTP once someone recovers the bullets I like to see .950 to 1" what do you think? Maybe 15" to 16" penetration? I like to thank Shadow & you for the testing thus far! I Know I have to get my hands on some long shot! I think that would be my standard carry load I have 1000 fresh Starline brass & 500 Double tap nickel plated brass, number 2-1/2 Winchester, primers & 300 & 350CCI primers I do have a few pounds of X800 but I think with your results I go with Long shot I have 1,750 200 Grain GDHP left to lock & load.
You may have reinvented the perfect 10mm bullet; Norma has nothing on you guys! If you need a few more bullets just give me a shout out I have virgin brass also for your testing. I am supposed to get my FFL 6 this week after the fire marshal come tomorrow again for the 5th time to ensure I have posted all my no smoking signs & the correct fire extinguisher & post a monthly fire inspection log book. What a pain but at least I will be legal.

Well I measured the brass today...as shot by Intercooler during his velocity testing.
Limited Pro 4.75" 200gr Gold Dot 9.4gr's LongShot 1285, 1299, 1298, 1289, 1274. Average = 1289 FPS/ 738 LBS.
JAG brass after 3 firings and reconditioning 0.4315", 0.4320", 0.4325", 0.4330" (showing some signs of stress at the multiple heavy loadings....these were on the HOT side)
Limited Pro 4.75" 200gr Gold Dot 9.4gr's 800-X 1208, 1216, 1265, 1230, 1237. Average = 1231.2 FPS/ 673 LBS.

Okay, I'll make up a ladder going from 8.0 gr of 800X through 9.0 gr. I know I should start lower than 0.1 gr below book max but between your results with 9.4 gr and my earlier results with 8.5 gr and an XTP bullet, I feel comfortable working up. I think that 9.4 gr might be a bit much just because of the ES. Assuming I also see no pressure signs, I'll gelatin test the 9.2 gr load as well as a 7.6 gr (subsonic) load.
I'm excited to see what these do in gelatin but I wish they had used a kinetic puller or something that bit less into the jacket.
