Title: How far would you drive for powder and primers?
Post by: The_Shadow on August 07 2013 12:32:52 PM MDT
I drove from Louisiana to Knoxville, Tennessee's Bass Pro Shop :o...Just messing around!  While on vacation I stopped in and found some LongShot power 1lb and CCI 300 large pistol 1K just because they were available and can always use them!  ;D

They only had 800X, 4756 Green Dot, TrailBoss, small supply of various CCI & Winchester primers...Center fire ammo and Bullets were scarce and very limited.  :(

Difference in actual cost
Shipping plus the $27.50 HazMat Charge
It's about 100 miles (round trip) up to Salt Lake
That would be worth it, I'd believe
Christensen's is closer, Cabela's even closer and Sportsman's is within 5 mile
So I'm always hoping they'll start getting Powder, Primers and Bullets

So far I won't if I'm not already driving to the area for another reason.  Can't say that won't change in the future, but don't see it all the same.

Im my current situation, not very far. Dad left me over 3000 CCI300's and a smattering of others ... And I've been on a .44 mag kick lately ... (although I still have 2k 10mm cases, about a third never used, brand new starline and 10lb of various powders).

Im okay for now. I'd drive a long way for more TIME though!

(And I'd trade it all in and drive to the end of the world to have Dad back...

Anytime you're close to a BPS it's a requirement that you "investigate"

I know the drill ;)  im lucky to have a Bass Pro, Cabelas AND a Graf's reloading in town. Gotta love STL
