Title: ProGrade and BVAC 165/180'S. PBR 135/155's
Post by: Intercooler on July 31 2013 05:49:57 AM MDT
These should be making their way back by the time I get there for testing.

It will be interesting seeing what The Shadow gets from the pull-downs. I'm pretty sure BVAC/ProGrade/USA/Freedom Munitions are made all at the same place!

BVAC is using JAG brass and Prograde has their headstamp (my bet is JAG). All the primers and loading looked like they were from one place... BVAC! The results were not all the same though!

Limited Pro 4.75" Prograde 165gr FMJ 1128, 1126, 1134, 1134, 1126. Average = 1129.6 FPS/ 468 LBS
Limited Pro 4.75" Prograde 180gr FMJ 1004, 1004, 1004, 983, 970. Average = 993 FPS/ 394 LBS
Limited Pro 4.75" BVAC 165gr FMJ 1130, 1128, 1094, 1107, 1102. Average = 1112.2 FPS/ 453 LBS
Limited Pro 4.75" BVAC 180gr FMJ 1198, 1201, 1187, 1200, 1205, 1202. Average = 1198.83 FPS/ 575 LBS

The Prograde stuff isn't loaded any better than a PPU. The BVAC 180's woke me up pretty good and would be an outstanding practice load. Strong but not gun battering!

I think The Shadow's pull-downs will show us these are all different levels of BVAC loads.

Intercooler,

How was the accuracy with the BVAC? Was the 180gr once fired brass?

Thanks for the testing!

Decent accuracy in new brass.

I've shot a few hundred 10mm distributed by AmmoKan, which is nothing more than the BVAC 180 in qty. 250 or more in a plastic ammo can.  Nice warm practice load.  Shoots and feeds well in my Gen-4 G20.

How would the numbers show coming out of the 1006 in in BVAC 180's? Armscor has those #'s in a Glock 20 from Dave Sneeds testing. His #'s were 1092,1176,1203,1094 and 1181. Intercooler i can send you some Armscor to see if they are consistant with BVAC out of the Match.

When I used the 1006 and Match the numbers were about equal +/- 10 FPS.
