Title: LWD 10MM -9MM,6" conversion barrel
Post by: 475/480 on July 29 2013 07:31:19 AM MDT
I got a Lone Wolf comversion barrel G20 10MM to 9MM -6" barrel a while back and finally got to the range to see how it runs. I tried a few powders I had on hand.
The paperwork said to run ONLY +P loads thru the barrel (NO doubt to get the slide to work correctly).
ALL loads ran perfectly with no FTF. The slide had a tendency to lock back with 1 round still in the mag (NOT always but 90% of the time) .Accuracy was very good with the 115 gr RN at 10 yards and only so/so , 3" with the  125 gr Ranier.
Loads Spec's :Primers WSP,cases :assorted brands. Loaded with 38 Super dies
Bullet - Ranier 125 gr HP
Powder :
Longshot:
6.0gr =1179
6.5gr =1256
800X:
5.5gr =1116
6.0gr =1155
Bullet: Generic 115 gr RN
Powder:
800X:
6.5gr =1292

475/480, Thanks for posting that info, I was looking at the 9mm barrels last night over at LWD.  What magazine are you using to feed the 9's in your G-20?  ???

I was told by LWD to use standard G20 mags and they have worked perectly so far.

Did you use an 11lb recoil spring like they suggest on their website?

Good stuff.  Thanks for sharing.

How far was the brass ejecting?

Since it was assorted brands of brass I did not pay attention. I just pick up and use whatever brass is at the range.
This is the only 9MM I have and will run whatever I can thru it.

Thanks for the info I have been thinking about the 40 conversion I have around 900 rounds of ammo and no 40 to shoot it in.

Do you have a Glock 10mm or a revolver? .40's do fine in those.

I have the stock length 10 MM /40 SW conversion barrel also. I traded for it and it shoots and runs well with the G20 mags and 200 gr bullets at 900 fps.

Ramjet,

You can fire 40 S&W in your 10mm barrel for practice, no problem.  I have run 100+ rounds of Federal 180 gr. FMJ through my G20SF (all stock) with zero malfunctions.

Rounds can only feed from the magazine, be aware that there could be a ring of buildup that you need to clean if you run a lot of 40 then switch back to 10mm.
