The high bidder's name rings true here.  Here is another recent purchase he made.

This is the problem with these gun auctions as I see it as well as auctions in general. It only drives the prices of guns up and sellers think or demand a higher price on guns down the line. I remember when I used to get the gunlist paper from 1986 until somewhere around 2005 or a little later. You could find a lot of good prices and get good deals on guns in that rag and when the auctions popped up online the prices of guns skyrocked. I guess if you've got the $$ price doesn't matter to some, but paying custom gun prices for production guns is just insane.
I myself like the buy now price method at least you know where you stand if you want to buy a gun.

Goes both ways though...On commodity items auctions keep prices low.

The issue we see here is an anomoly on a non-commodity item.  Check the actual sell prices of a Glock 20 or a Kimber 1911 and on average they reflect market with the occasional gouge and the occasional steal.

Well, it was a 5 incher, my favorite length (and my wife's, I think). I just bought a 4 in. 610 for $ 700. I guess size does matter.

Well, I would rather have a 5 incher than a 4 incher! Six is better!  :D

That done with, that's a totally ridiculous price. And there were 24 bids on this darned thing with no reserve price. Seller made out like a bandit, and I can't even call him a gouger.!

I often go out on gunpoker for a good laugh.  I do see some not bad deals go down also.
