Title: Finally! I pick up the EAA Limited Pro today and then conversion time!
Post by: Intercooler on July 17 2013 03:55:14 AM MDT
Took about a week longer than it should because they said they had a hard time locating 10mm ammo ??? I should have just asked them before I left that day.

Tonight I plan on putting the Dawson sight and Henning pieces on before hitting the range tomorrow. I will post up some before/after pictures and test the DA/SA pulls to see where it's at. While I am in the mode I will pull the other 10's too for comparison.

Now if I could just get the other one that is sitting at 100 days out of jail  :o

Did a bunch of work last night but couldn't get on to post it.

Here is the cool black case which is the better combo type. I have seen many of the cheaper plastic ones lately!

Dawson fiber-optic front in place. I ruined the green pipe the first try :(

I had doubts it would come with a Polygonal barrel but you tell me. Is it? I kind of think so which would be great for comparisons to the Match!

I'm done in the 10mm caliber.  Only possibility would be a new model revolver or plastic gun.

Very nice Intercooler!  Great looking metal work and finish.  Nothing wrong being a 10mm freak!  :D I wouldn't know anything about that...LOL ;D  The bore looks to be Polygonal style.  The trigger may loosen up some with use, lube, etc.

May it serve you well for may years to come! 8)

Thanks. I'm going to try killing it tonight :o

Packed up a bunch of 10mm for it's first session! I agree it will loosen on the trigger if you look at the other two.

I'm still searching for that ultimate 10mm Carbine
And looking forward to CZ marketing their CZ97 in 10mm

I had just got it sighted and was starting to pop some off. I really like this pistol! My plan is to put a divot for the set screw to bite into and put it back on with some Loctite. This will be the new ammo test gun when I go testing ammo. The SA trigger acts just like the Match and the DA trigger is much better than the 1006.

It's a good thing I take at least two 10's with me when I go in case I break one  :o I shot the 1006 and Razorback (back in service) after this mishap. Saturday I am going again and want to do the Limited with the Polygonal barrel versus the Match to see if their is a boost in velocity.

I tried to drill a divot but no luck. That Chrome finish and metal is tough! So I basically filled the channel with red Loctite and inserted it pushing out the excess. After that I torqued down the set screw. Do you think the Loctite bond will hold it in there?

If the Red don't hold, try Loctite Black Max
It's holding my Delta Sight Pivot Pin in

I may have to give it a whirl if this don't work. Drilling seems to be out and I plan on running a ton in the morning. Thanks for the tip!

Honestly I don't think it's suited for the 10mm in a couple of ways  :o Could be more of a bad rap thing but couple that with the still too large grip  ;D More tomorrow on if I think the 1911 is a good 10mm platform too  ???

That limited pro has a real nice look to it.  Almost as nice as your DW with the new grips.  I like the case it comes with.

How many rounds does the limited pro magazine hold?  Does it come with more than one magazine?

Funny Tanfoglio doesn't use a better rear sight mount.  I'm thinking plenty of owners have complained or at least brought it up by now.

Just one magazine with it and it's 14+1. I plan on trying the reds in it tomorrow which is 15+1. Not all of them are being shipped with this good case which is part of why I jumped on this one  ;D I'm liking this rear sight setup better than the Match for sure!

I noticed something in the Razorback I want to touch on some tomorrow with everyone. The weight and this other thing going on is starting to make me think the 1911 isn't for 10mm!

For the money I love the Tanfoglio pieces. Their are some things that can be improved upon with them but awesome bang for the buck!

I agree in regard to bang for the buck.

I think between Tanfoglio, Glock, and in a 1911 the RIA, they may be the best bangs for the buck in the 10mm world.  Not sure about the RIA yet though as it is relatively new on the scene and not really wrung out yet.  That said, what's nice is fairly reasonably priced platforms in more than one choice for different preferences by different individuals.  It would really suck for some of us if +$1000.00 had to be spent just to get into a decent 10mm platform.  As it is though, there is pretty much a good selection to be had ranging anywhere from $500 to $5000 depending on the budget of various individuals.

I'd still take a Smith and Wesson 10mm over that $7K Nighthawk Custom (somebody is smokin' Crack)...Damn!, for a few dollars more, I might could buy a CNC machine and make my own! (I think I have the file downloaded to make the 1911's already)  :-\

If I'm going to spend that kinda money

$7100.00.  Whoa. :o  Honestly, even at a much lesser price, there's nothing that captivates me about it.  No doubt I understand it is a quality firearm all the way around, still, no excitement for me.  I'll hang on to my G20, thanks.

Heck, at that point I think I'ld choose a 100% custom Fusion first, and spend lots less in the process.

I see some of these and think is it just some kind of name you are paying for? A hammer, grip, slide, barrel, etc... are all the same in just about every way (EGW probably makes many of their parts) and it isn't even an eye catcher. Me personally I have never figured out what would make something like this with a realistic $1500 build worth $7000  :o

Must be the name or something as I didn't think it was much of an eye catcher either.  I suppose someone out there does consider it eye candy, still a whole lot of money though even if that is the case.  Especially when I think for the same money a guy could have all of:  Razorback, Custom Fusion, EAA Limited Pro, Kimber Target, and Glock G20, and maybe still have money left over for ammo?
